As steem is growing popular new members are joining us some of them are human and some umm.. are not and we know them as bots( Hi ! @wang @weng )
As we know that after Today's hardfork the maximum number of posts one can post on steemit in a day without any penalty are reduced to 4 to make sure that people give priority to quality rather than quantity .
So why can't the same mechanism be applied for comments too maybe it can be decided that you can post 100 comments per day and after that there will be penalty just like posts .
Hope the developers pay attention towards this aspect also and tackle the growing "comment" spam the same way they tackle the post spam.

You could always band a team together dedicated to downvoting bots, as the profits disappear so would the bots most likely
