Gran Prix begins in Caracas.. Chess activity is maintained in an intense movement throughout Venezuela, last Friday, September 6 began at the Metropolitan Chess Center North, located on the Bridge of the Armed Forces in Caracas, the Grand Prix AJEVEN. It is a mega event that will consist of 25 tournaments in Blitz Mode with 3 minutes per game with 2 seconds of increase, will be played every Thursday and Friday from 2 pm. It will be governed by the laws of FIDE and there will be Awards for the first three places of each Competition.
Each Tournament will award points up to eighth place. The Grand Final will take place in the coming month of December, and will feature the participation of the top 20 classifieds and 10 special guests (it is expected the presence of several of the best trebejistas in the country). It has the endorsement and organization of the DC Chess Association and its president Giovanni Hernandez, AJEVEN and its dynamic president Willy Rios and the Chess Standards Foundation. Triumph in the first event the Caracas CM Gerardo Marin with 9.5 of 11, followed by MN Richard Diaz with 9 and third Yan Colmenarez with 8.
Another event of interest took place in Carrizal, the First IRT Under 16, was organized by Ulises Peña and had the presence of AI José Luis Guilarte, the victory was won by the young talent Franklin Villarroel with 3.5 out of 4, after beating Alexi Rocca and Adrian Mendez in the System of Desempate, 20 young Chess players participated and is part of the Activation Plan of the discipline in that popular area of Miranda State.
