Confession and repentance

Judges 10.6-18

Sin separates us from God, is a simple truth, this passage shows the process by which we all have to go to remove the barriers and re-enter into a correct relationship with him
The first part of the process is the conession: to tell God what we have done wrong, the second part is repentance: to turn from our bad deeds, the Israelites agreed that they had worshiped foreign gods; and then they got rid of the idols and they served the Lord

When we do not cones our sins, we end up hiding from God, just like Adam and Eve in the garden, we feel that we can not face God, but the problem with trying to hide from God is that it is impossible, the Bible says that everything what we do will be discovered, including the things we say and think in secret

Nothing is more overwhelming and destructive than sin, we do not realize how heavy it is until we feel its crushing weight in our relationships; we do not see how destructive it is until we crash against the wall we have erected between God and us

Nothing is more liberating and wonderful than experiencing the compassion and grace of God, when he confesses his sins he is not telling God something he does not know
God wants to know that you know you have sinned and that you are ready to get away from that

"He who conceals his sins will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will have mercy." Proverbs 28:13.
When the Pharisees and Sadducees came for John the Baptist to baptize them, he said to them, "Bring forth fruits worthy of repentance." Matthew 3: 8.

One cannot become a Christian without repentance. As my friend Onisim Moisa said on his blog post- https://onisim.net/repentance/
