Blessings and peace to the whole family of SteemChurch.
Who are those who mourn and are called to receive divine consolation?
In the first place, they are those who allow themselves to be touched by the grace of repentance and sincerely mourn their sin. His tears are comparable to a new baptism because: "If our heart condemns us, God is more than our heart" (1 Jn / 3, 20). And, knowing that we are forgiven can bring us other tears, those of consolation!
There are, of course, tears from people who find themselves in such a difficult situation that they can only trust in God. He takes them in his loving heart, the one who through the mystery of his passion is the source of all true comfort. And, place with the one who cries the friend who understands and consoles, without judging, often because he himself has been tested.
"Cry with those who cry," says Pablo. The tears that are followed by consolation are also the tears of compassion. To be moved, to be touched by the suffering of the other and to care for it with respect, brings with it a grace of consolation.
Yes, there is a great need for comfort in today's world, so much suffering, often hidden and unrecognized, that they do not find the comfort they desire. The cry of Scripture: "I expected compassion, but in vain I expected comforters, but I did not find any", it sounded louder than ever. Most people need solace and encouragement much more than reproach.
To console, one must look with love towards the other and about the anguish of the world, it is to restore trust and hope! It is a very beautiful aspect of the Christian vocation to be invited to receive consolation from God, in order to console those who need it.
Because it is the work of the Spirit, the Church carries in it a ministry of consolation!
"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me, he has sent me to give news to the poor, to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to captives and prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord's grace and the day of vengeance of our God, to console all afflicted, to give them a diadem instead of ashes, a festive tablecloth instead of a dejected spirit "(Isaiah 61, 1-3)
"The consolation" of God had been announced by the prophet (Is 61.2). The expression "those who mourn" refers, probably, to those who suffer injustice and oppression.

If we believe that God's grace and sovereignty are greater than any loss or disappointment, we, too, can experience joy in the midst of sorrow. We may not understand why God allows tragedy to strike, but we can rest in his infinite wisdom and tender mercies. One look at Jesus' suffering on the cross, and we know he understands our pain.
