How nothing costs more than something

In this article I am going to attempt to explain why 'organic' food is more expensive to produce.

Pretend a farmers whose name is Joe is a cattle farmer that lives around the year 1900. Say Joe owns 5 acres of land and he does not want to transport feed, so Joe's farm can only support say 15 cows at any given time. Each year Joe raises on his farm 15 calves (baby cows). (This is how animal farmers make money, when the calf is small it weighs 50 lbs and can be sold for $.50 per pound...so Joe wants the animal to weigh many pounds) In this example it takes 1 year for the cow to grow up and gain 1000 pounds. To make matters simple we will say that Joe earns roughly $15,000 per year from his cattle farm. That amount was okay when he was single, but when Joe got married and had two kids, then financialy he struggled to make ends meet.

One day Joe learned that he could purchase injections (booster shots) for his cows. The injections meant that Joe's turn around rate was twice as fast. That is to say that Joe's farm used to recieve 1 truckload of baby cows per year. It took Joe 1 year to 'fatten' the cows, but with the injections cows gain weight twice as fast. In short Joe's farm used to recieve 1 shipment of cows every year. But now the injections allow Joe's farm to be able to recieve 2 truckloads every year (each cow can gain twice as much weight, or the cow can arive at full weight in half of the time).

But a person needs to question a few things, first of all if I eat a hamburger that is made from one of Joe's cows...what am I eating? Secondly if the cows are not eating more food, then how is the cow gaining weight?

I do not feel that I should 100% blame Joe for feeding me tainted meat. (Although I am not a fan of chemical companies) to be fair, I do not feel that I should blame the chemical company 100%, because if they stop producing chemicals then Joe will be forced out of business.

So a Mexican Standoff has been created

A Mexican standoff is a confrontation amongst two or more parties in which no participant can proceed or retreat without being exposed to danger. As a result, all participants need to maintain the strategic tension, which remains unresolved until some outside event makes it possible to resolve it.

The way that things are set up, the chemical companies do not only rely on farmer Joe. satan has designed his kingdom to be desired by people. An organicly raised hamburger might cost consumers $6.00, where as the chemical burger can be bought for $2.00.

2 Corinthians 6:17
Therefore, "Come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you."

I want to tell you guys about a program that I call 'the edges of the field'. A number of years ago there were some break-ins and the thief/thieves stole items that indicated they were after some quick money (I am assuming that the person needed quick money to buy food) And I started thinking about how a hungry person could recieve food. GOD allowed me to remember a passage in the Bible that answered the question that I had.

Leviticus 23:22
"When you harvest the crops of your land, do not harvest the grain along the edges of your fields, and do not pick up what the harvesters drop. Leave it for the poor and the foreigners living among you. I am the LORD your God."

The idea is simple plant an apple tree, and the needy can get a free snack! However there is one issue that needs to be discussed.

When I was in college my dorm mates had a practice. If they were throwing away a banna peel (or obvious trash) then the trash would be thrown inside the garbage bin. However if something of value was being tossed out, then the item would be placed on top of the trash can. That way you could help someone in need, without makeing them go dumpster diving.

Obviously, every needy person does not want to steal items of value from you (however if you have a need it is prudent of you to observe overlooked oppertunities.

So in 'the edges of the field' it would be nice if needey people could read a sign that said that they are allowed to harvest food out of a certain area. I was going through a time when food was not as abundant as it is at other times, and it so happened that I would often walk by a house that had an apple tree in the front yard. By looking at the house I could see that no one currently lived in the house, and I could tell that it would not matter to anyone if I picked some apples. (but it would of been handy if there was a sign in the yard)

I enjoy thinking about when I will be able to help out the needy. That may sound trite, but think about it. Everytime a needy person recieves some fruit from the edges of the field they will be required to asks themselves 'who gave me this food' and it not like I taped the fruit on the trees. When they ask who labors year after year to provide this bounty...they will have to stare GOD in the eye...haha

I encourage people to contact a church and donate a fruit tree to the church yard.

I would like people to share this idea with many people (its not my idea, the idea belongs to GOD!) Please resteem this article and/or share it accost your social media groups!

Ps. I didn’t care about the grammar mistake

Thank you @houseofhotard, the grammer natzi felt the need to criticize me!

You have a minor misspelling in the following sentence:

That is to say that Joe's farm used to recieve 1 truckload of baby cows per year.
It should be receive instead of recieve.
