The Ultimate Purpose Of Prayer

Prayer is one of the most discussed subject in the religious space. But in this piece we shall be looking at how this topic concerns our faith as Christians. What is so special about prayer? Someone reading this may ask.

A lot of persons pray, and it seems as if there's no immediate manifestation of what they've prayed for, and then; they stop praying because they probably think nothing is happening; wondering when God is going to do something about their case. They fail to understand that God never sleep nor slumber-- He's always working!

Prayer is a means of communing with our heavenly Father, based on His word and promises for our lives. But sadly, a lot of persons today pray amiss. Indeed, the purpose of prayer is for us to grow into perfection in the likeness of Christ. Romans 8:29 says:

"For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son...

So, each time you pray, God is either answering you the way you've hoped or by reconfiguring your heart thru intercession by the spirit to bring your prayers into alignment with His will.

Don't fall into the trap of having this flawed thinking, that nothing is happening because you simply can't see the practical evidence yet of what you prayed for. Remember, when you plant a seed, you don't come the following day expecting green shoots and leaves. Well, this doesn't negate the fact that inexplicable processes are taking place beneath the soil.

Luke 22:42

"...Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.” (ESV)

This is the mindset we need each time we pray, saying "Father, your will-- be done!"
