There are things we need to know as believers pertaining to God's kingdom. Dan. 4:3 gives us a brief description about that kingdom:
“How great are his signs and how mighty are his wonders; his kingdom is an everlasting kingdom”.
The kingdom of God is an everlasting kingdom.
Luke 12 Vs 32 says “fear not littleflockfor it is your father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom God chose you to be heir of which he has promised to those that love him”.
james 2 Vs 5 also implies God’s kingdom is a promise from God to his people. Luke 22 V5 29 Jesus said
”And I appoint untoyou a kingdom as my father hath appointed unto me” john 18 Vs 36: jesus answered, my kingdom is not of this world, which implies that the everlasting kingdom is not in this earth.
Matt 4:23; 9:33; 24:14 says that Jesus went all about teaching and preaching about the kingdom. This implies that Jesus' main emphasis on earth was about teaching people the principle of going to that kingdom which God has prepared for man from the foundation of the world.
In John 14:1 Jesus said
”I am going to prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto myself that where I am you will be also”. Luke 12:32 says "it is the father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom”.
Jesus is coming back again for this purpose. He is coming to appoint to you the kingdom which the father has appointed unto him. No wonder the scripture says we are pilgrims here on earth. If Jesus will not come back, then both our hope and faith are also in vain. If Jesus will not come, it shows that it is only in this world that we have hope as believers. If Jesus will not come, it shows that the word of God is false. If Jesus will not come back again, those that have fallen asleep in him are perished.
1C0r. 15:22–For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
He is coming back again to give eternal life to as many that believe in him. Jesus is coming back to continue where he stopped and to accomplish his work. In the Book of Matt 24:1– 3 the bible says that the disciples came to him privately saying tell us when shall this things be and what shall be the sign of thy coming and of the end of the world. The disciples out of joy and excitement of_ this promise endured all the persecutions, knowing that they were going to see the father also. The Angels also prophesied about his second coming in Acts 1:9-11:
And when he had spoken these things, while they behold, he was taken up, and a cloud receive him out of there sight And while they look, steadfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel which also said Ye men of Galilee, why stand, ye gazing up into heaven, the same jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go in to heaven.
