Called To Be Free In The Crusade For Freedom

Christ indeed says to the Jews who believed 'If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples'. Then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free. In this passage, Christ was talking about freedom from sin that leads to salvation and this comes from the knowledge of the truth, which is the word of God.

He, further asserts that if He (the Son) makes one free, one would be free indeed. This implies that true freedom can only be found in Christ.

In Galatians Chapter 5 verse 1, Paul admonished the Christians in Galatia to stand firm in the freedom-they obtained in Christ and not to themselves burdened again by the yoke of slavery.

In verse 13 of this chapter, he specifically told them that they were called to be free and therefore they should not use their freedom to indulge the flesh. We have been set free we shouldn't get ourselves entangled in the shackles of sin again!.

The refrain of the hymn penned by William Newell (1895) entitled “At Calvary” aptly reminds us: 'Mercy there was great and grace was free; Pardon there was multiplied to me; There my burdened soul found liberty; At Calvary'. Newell shows by the lyrics of his hymn that we found liberty through the death of the Saviour.

The relief that comes from being free from the bondage of sin and poverty can never be completely described.

As Parishioners Of The Steemchurch we have all answered the call to be free from sin and poverty, @sirknight started the @steemchurch to give us a platform which offers liberation from spiritual bondage and financial freedom.

Galatians 5 verse 13

You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh ; rather, serve one another humbly in love.
