Steemchurch:You are His Witness

in steemchurch •  7 years ago

Greatings to the family of @steemchurch happy to be a member of this great church, welcome to my blog, I will be sharing with us a great topic today, " you are his witness".

What does it mean to be a witness? What does it mean to a witness of God? And What the Bible say about it.

WHAT does it mean to be a witness? One dictionary explains that a witness is “someone who sees an event and reports what happened.”

Just before he returned to heaven, Jesus explained to his disciples what they were to do after his departure. What he said to them, he also says to us. He left us on the earth that we might be his witnesses. In heaven there will be no witnesses because in heaven seeing is believing. There the Lamb will be the light and he will need no lesser lights, but in this dark world we are the only light he has. On earth we are his witnesses. He uses people like us to convince other people like us to believe in him. We are God’s witnesses—his evidence if you will—to convince an unbelieving world. If we do not do our part, God has no other plan.

Isaiah 43:10 “Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.”

1 Thessalonians 2:10 “Ye are witnesses, and God also, how holily and justly and unblameably we behaved ourselves among you that believe:”

A witness is somebody who has proved the genuineness and strength of his faith or conviction in Christ by being a living example of what he believes; he is a live testimony of what he believes. In Acts 1:8, the Lord Jesus tells us that we shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon us, and we shall be witnesses of Him all around the world. What that means is that we shall be living testimonies of His finished works for humanity in the substitutionary work, not only by telling it to others, but also by being the living testimony of it to them.

Our opening Scripture tells us that God has chosen us in Christ Jesus as His witnesses to believe Him, and understand that He is the Lord and there is none besides Him, that we might spread the fragrance of His knowledge to the ends of the world. 2 Corinthians 2:14 tells us that God makes manifest the fragrance of His knowledge by us in every place. You have to begin to see yourself as God’s living witness, to witness of His power, goodness and faithfulness. Your life will tell the message of the Gospel louder and better than your mouth can and will. Yes, we have to tell it with our mouth. We must not stop telling it with our mouth. Nevertheless we must be that message to our world. That is what it means to be a living witness of God to our world.

Matthew 5:16 tells us “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” There is something that the Gentiles and kings of the earth are coming to. Isaiah 60:1-3 tells us that they are coming to our light, and to the brightness of our rising. God has made you His witness to tell the good news and be a living testimony of it to the world. He wants you to live out the message of the Cross and the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Nothing tells the truth more powerfully than the life that is telling it. Paul told the Thessalonian brethren “Ye are witnesses, and God also, how holily and justly and unblameably we behaved ourselves among you that believe.” He was a living witness of the Gospel that he preached.

The problem is that many believers are running around getting involved in certain programs and activities without ever stopping to realize what we are supposed to be in the first place. The time has come to be still before the Lord (Psalm 46:10) and find out the reason and purpose behind all of our activities and all of our service.

The failure to live a consistent Christian life negates a convincing witness. But none of these obstacles can compare with the tragedy of Christians doing nothing as people on every side enter eternity without Jesus Christ. May God make us all faithful witnesses.

You have gifts unique to you. You have the gifts God gave you to reach the unreached around you. Who are you sharing Jesus with today? Come share with us! We would love to hear @steemchurch

Yea,this is true,we are his witness,we are ambassadors of Christ and we represent the kingdom here on earth,it's our responsibility to preach the message of Christ to the whole world,2 Corinthians 5:18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. 5:20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
