Dear Community! Dear friends! We are all happy for the initiatives that are manifested in SteemChurch. I dare say that if someone wants to learn healthy spiritual contents and many more, it is time to visit this growing community.
Looking ahead and with faith in high, I join the initiative presented by SteemChurch Venezuela (@sc-v), led by the Apostle Darlenys, to deepen on the greatest teaching of human history: The Beatitudes of Jesus.
"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven" (Matthew 5: 3)
The best way to understand what Jesus meant by the poor in spirit is to look for what would be the opposite. The opposite, taking into account the context, would be "proud of the mind", that is, people who despise God do not think that they need it, that they do not recognize him as Lord of their lives, not to look for him in the fact and the heart. These types of people can not inherit the kingdom of God.
The humble or poor in spirit are characterized by the fact that they have within themselves an acknowledgment of what they really are, their weaknesses, their sinful condition, their smallness, their total dependence on God and the Lord in the activities of life . They are inwardly humble (poor) people, people who in fact recognize the greatness of God and submit to Him from the heart.
This is the kind of person that Jesus says they have the kingdom of God in their lives and that they can enjoy the blessings of the Lord not only here on earth, where they will be blissful (totally happy), but they also inherit most of blessing of all, the salvation provided by God in Jesus Christ.
How to be poor in spirit?
I suppose that, if someone finds out that the poor in spirit are Blessed, they will run for some instructions to be it.
There are no steps by recipe to be poor in spirit. What exists is an example of what it is to be poor in spirit. And this example is Christ himself: "before he emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, making himself the likeness of men, and finding himself in the form of a man, he humbled himself, obeying even death and death on the cross "(Philippians 2: 7-8).
Paul was able to see this and said, "Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ" (1 Corinthians 11: 1). Searching to be like Christ will lead us directly to be poor (humble) in spirit as God desires us to be.
What is not being poor in spirit?
Many people confuse some attitudes to being poor in spirit. We need to evaluate these characteristics and not confuse them. To be poor in spirit is not to have a life without struggles for financial improvements, it is not false modesty, it is not to be a boxing match for people, it is not to stop fighting for their rights and for what is right. It is not to fail to rejoice over conquests, it is not to stop dreaming high, it is not to be exempt from all the good ambitions of life.
We can not confuse one thing with another, here in Venezuela we say: "Do not mix milk with magnesium"
I conclude by saying that when we empty ourselves, when we choose to live modestly and generously, when we are able to recognize our mistakes, when we show that we are dependent on each other, and that our sufficiency comes from God, You can say with confidence: I am Blissful.

Simply beautiful @emiliocabrera, when you speak of emptying, it means stripping us of everything that prevents us from approaching God, all weight, all sin, leaving the old man, and being those vessels where the new wine is thrown, only the poor of spirits They have the ability to love without measure.

Amen, and the best thing is that, when we empty ourselves, we receive the exuberant wealth of Christ. Thanks for the contribution @sc-v

That passage invites us to be simple, to be detached, to have a free heart, directed towards God.

Hello! Emilio I agree with you to empty ourselves is to live in harmony with us and with what surrounds us, simply to live in peace, free of energy and negative feelings that disturb our soul. From my point of view, that is to be poor in spirit, in addition to recognizing the greatness of our God and living full of love! @nashilda wishes you good luck with these humble words that you share with us.

Outstanding beginning of the teachings of the Beatitudes. Day 1: Poor in spirit. Nothing better than recognizing that we depend on GOD. Jesus is our great example and model. While I was in the world, I was arrogant, now that Christ came into my life, I recognize that I depend directly on God to receive all the riches that He has for me, especially my entrance into the kingdom of heaven, if I persevere. Blessings to you.
