The Scriptures say in Hosea 4:6,”My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge”. This is the case with many Christians today. While many are ignorant of the fact that they have authority in Christ, others possess the authority but never put it into use. They neglect the power, authority and dominion they have in Christ. As a result, many Christians live a defeated and subjugated life.
Meanwhile, the Scripture is replete with people who manifested authority and dominion. The Bible recorded in so many places where Christ Himself manifested authority and dominion over sicknesses, wind, weakness, infirmity, negative circumstances, evil spirit and demons. The Scriptures have it that people around him “were all amazed and spoke among themselves saying, what a word is this! For with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits and they came out! (Luke 4:36). And as he did throughout His earthly ministry, He still does today.
Elijah also manifested authority and dominion. He said in 1 Kings 17:1, “As the Lord God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word”. And it came to pass exactly the way he said it because he knew his God. He never allowed Ahab or Jezebel dictate to him or change the plan of God for the nation and his ministry. He was fully in charge. Just be like Elijah, be in charge and take dominion instead of complaining or crying.
Don’t forget, God has positioned you to take dominion over every negative circumstance in your life, family, ministry and territory and this can only be achieved by faith. You need faith to manifest authority and dominion in Christ. So, speak the word of faith to that seemingly insurmountable challenge confronting you today and everything will be over (Mark 11:23). You don’t need to depend on others to cast out demons for you; you can do it yourself because you have God’s Word with you. Always remember that “Where the word of a king is, there is power” (Ecclesiastes 8:4).
