Is the forgiveness of sins possible after having known the truth of God?

The Mercy of God gives us another opportunity to be saved and live a life without sin, However the brother explains that according to the word of God and what was said by the Apostle Paul, There is no more forgiveness if you have full knowledge.

Hebrews 10:26-27

26 If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left,
27 but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.

Once a person has attained the knowledge of the truth of God, which was once enlightened, he was made to participate with the Holy Spirit. But if this person is not strengthened by the Holy Spirit, he can fall into transgression.

Hebrews 6: 4-6

4 It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, 5 who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age 6 and who have fallen[a] away, to be brought back to repentance. To their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace.

After one knows the truth, having experienced the word of God and the power of the Holy Spirit, we can not expose again the body of Christ and crucify him by exposing him to public derision and being reproached.

However, a person can fall into sin because of lack of knowledge, this is something that the Apostle Paul experienced.

1 Timothy 1:13

Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief.

Here we can see that if our sin is done by unbelief or by lack of knowledge of the truth or lack of strengthening of the Holy Spirit, the Mercy of God is so great to forgive all who have sinned, this through our lawyer the Lord Jesus Christ .

We also see this in the treatment of the Apostle Paul to the Corinthians in first and second Corinthians, treating them as spiritual children in 1 Corinthians, and in 2 Corinthians gives them the opportunity of repentance.

1 Corinthians 3:1-2
  1. Brothers and sisters, I could not address you as people who live by the Spirit but as people who are still worldly—mere infants in Christ.
2 I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for it. Indeed, you are still not ready.

Paul in the first Corinthians, treats as his spiritual brothers his brothers in Christ, the same ones who were baptized and belong to the True Church, but could not receive all the knowledge since they were not prepared to be immature spiritually.

Then in 2 Corinthians, the Apostle Paul gives them the opportunity of repentance, he can no longer treat them as children and most of all because knowledge was given, and at the same time and he feared that it could not be enough and that because of the many sins despite the teachings of the Apostle Paul would end up humiliated before God by the performance of the Church of the Corinthians, Brother Eli emphasizes that you can not teach to sin but rather give hope to be saved by repenting of their sins.

2 Corinthians 12:20-21

20 For I am afraid that when I come I may not find you as I want you to be, and you may not find me as you want me to be. I fear that there may be discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, slander, gossip, arrogance and disorder. 21 I am afraid that when I come again my God will humble me before you, and I will be grieved over many who have sinned earlier and have not repented of the impurity, sexual sin and debauchery in which they have indulged.

The Apostle gives him the opportunity to repent, in order to be strengthened in the spirit and in this way obtain Salvation.

Conclusion

It is necessary that we reach a genuine repentance, which is only possible once the truth is found, through the strengthening of our spirit; through the knowledge of the Word of God and the Prayer. In this way we can be purified and strengthened by the Holy Spirit, and become partakers of Him. But we must not forget that the one who is firm will see that he does not fall in order to please our God and not show our only God again. and our Lord Jesus Savior. And in this way do not lose Salvation.

Hey brother! Great post and teaching! There is a difference of being given over to sin or habitual sin and sinning. I drop a rock on my foot and perhaps say something I shouldn’t, that is sin and we have an advocate with the Father (Abogado). Even in this we should be maturing and growing out of it. But the person, like Peter said, “a dog that goes back to his vomit or the sow back to his mire”. The willful habitual sin and no repentance or remorse. It seems there are two categories of people in the Bible. Those who overcame and those who are overcome.
I have been traveling to other islands preaching the Gospel. I miss your fellowship.
God bless!
