Day 2: "Blessed are those who mourn"

"Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted"
What did the Lord Jesus suffer for us? Isaiah 63: 9, first part; 53: 3-7.
In all their anguish he was anguished. Despised and rejected among men, a man of sorrows, experienced in brokenness; and as we hid his face from him, he was despised, and we esteemed him not. He certainly took our diseases, and suffered our pains; and we felt him scourged, wounded by God and dejected. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was crushed for our sins; the punishment of our peace was upon him, and by his stripes we were healed. We all went astray like sheep, each one went his way; but the Lord has laid on him the sin of us all. He was distressed and afflicted, he did not open his mouth; as a lamb he was taken to the slaughterhouse; and as a sheep before his shearers, he fell silent, and did not open his mouth.
"Blessed are those who cry with Jesus, full of compassion for the sorrows of the world and grieve over the sins committed in him and, when they mourn, do not think of themselves. Jesus was a Man of sorrows, and his heart suffered an unutterable anguish.

His spirit was torn and overwhelmed by the transgressions of men. He worked with consuming zeal to alleviate the needs and sorrows of humanity, and his heart burned when he saw that the multitudes refused to come to Him to obtain life. All who follow Christ will also share the glory that will be revealed. They were united with Him in His work, hurried with Him the cup of pain, and also participate in their rejoicing.

"Through suffering, Jesus prepared himself for the ministry of consolation. He was afflicted by all anguish of mankind, and 'inasmuch as he himself suffered being tempted, he is able to succor those who are tempted'. Those who have participated in this communion of their sufferings have the privilege of participating, also of their ministry. 'For as the afflictions of Christ abound in us, so also our consolation abounds through Christ' 2 Corinthians 1: 5 "

What makes it possible for the Savior to console those who mourn? Matthew 5: 4.

Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
"God does not want us to be overwhelmed with sadness, with anguished and broken heart. He wants us to lift our eyes and see his loving face. The blessed Savior is near many whose eyes are so full of tears that they can not perceive it.
He longs to shake our hand; He wants us to look at him with simple faith and allow him to guide us. His heart knows our sorrows, afflictions and trials. He has loved us with an everlasting love and has surrounded us with mercy. We can support the heart in Him and meditate at all times in His goodness. He will elevate the soul beyond the daily sadness and perplexity, to a kingdom of peace. "Think of this, children of sorrow and suffering, and rejoice in hope. 'This is the victory that overcomes the world ... our faith' John 5: 4.

"The Lord has special grace for those who mourn, and there is power in it to soften hearts and win souls. His love makes its way into the wounded and afflicted soul, and becomes a healing balm for those who cry. The 'Father of mercies and the God of all consolation ... comforts us in all our tribulations, so that we may also console those who are in any tribulation, through the consolation with which we are comforted by God' (2). Corinthians 1: 3, 4) "

"God does not accept confession without sincere repentance and reformation. There must be a decided change in life; everything that is offensive to God must be left behind. This will be the result of a true sadness for sin "
