God does not always call the strong

We have all heard these stories: Elvis Presley reproached the music subject and was told to better continue with his work as a truck driver. Michael Jordan was removed from the high school basketball team. The novel" what the wind took "was rejected 38 times before it was published.

Bethoven's music teacher said he had no hope as a composer. Thomas Edison was fired a couple of times for not having productive capacity.

The failures of those great winners convince me that our weakness is often the other side of our strength. I dreaded playing in public and now I play music for God is different places.

In general, our strengths and our weaknesses are directly related. For a long time, I resisted embracing my strengths because doing so meant confronting my weaknesses. It took a long time before he knew that God can use both; and it took even longer before I realized that sometimes God chose us because of our weaknesses and not because of our strengths.

I feel great consolation when I see, when I see through the Bible that God does not always choose the strong ones. Choose those who have some defect to weakness and transform them. A person like Moses who had killed a man, was chosen to lead his people from slavery to freedom. David, who had ordered that someone's life be killed, was chosen to be king. and also this Jesus, who included among his 12 closest followers one that lied to him, I doubt him and betray him.

My favorite Christmas passage begins with "do not fear". Those two words mean that God is going to be something powerful with someone who is weak. Do not you love that moment at a Christmas with Charlye Browm, when Linus offers to explain the meaning of Christmas to a friend, citing the Gospel of Luke?

do not fear, because I bring you a new piece of news, a great joy for the people. Today, in the city of David, a savior has been born to them, who is the Messiah the Lord. and this will serve as a sign: you will find a newborn child wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger.

I have heard that we should read the bible as if we were each one of these characters.

On one occasion the pastor of my church, Pastor Domingo Moreno, gave a preaching as if he were the innkeeper who closed the door to the holy family on Christmas Eve, the pastor said that we are like the innkeepers who closed the door so as not to give him accommodate others. We are too busy to talk to the friend who is in the middle of the murky divorce. Our lives are full enough to give us some time and offer our services in a shelter or take care of a friend's child.

We are those Christian leaders who are busy to take care of our brothers, our jobs, our hobbies, our family, and we are very afraid when God comes to us, whether in the form of heavenly or earthly angels (friends, relatives and strangers with problems and crises). reluctant when they ask us to go somewhere unknown or unwanted, for which we must deviate from the professional path carefully constructed in our busy schedule.

I am like José, who could have left Maria in silence, instead of entering into a relationship that would demand from him more than what he was willing to give, we prefer the normal, the stable, the predictable (something we can control) we plan our lives and in planning we are careful not to leave space for God to enter and disorient everything.

What would happen if God did not call for something higher? It sounds good for a second, but immediately afterwards we would take stock of the cost. What happens if the call means to move? or spend more money ?.

When God called Jeremiah, he wanted to decline, arguing that he was too young for work. Moses was also not very excited when he was hired to shepherd the Jews across the desert to the promised land.

A pastor told me that before becoming a pastor he did not feel strong enough for this call, after someone asked him:
Are you weak enough?
Tell him that if God is not about strength, but about affirmation in the midst of weakness.

IF THE ANSWER DOING THE SUFFICIENTLY STRONG IS NEGATIVE, MAYBE, YOU ARE MAKING A WRONG QUESTION. THE BEST THING THAT YOU MUST FORMULATE IS: AM I SUFFICIENTLY WEAK TO BE OF UTILITY?

He chooses then he qualifies.

Dios ha escogido lo necio del mundo para avergonzar a los sabios.

@STEEMCHURCH

Agreed 😊

SO THIS IS @STEEMCHURCH IT USES THE WEAK AND THE STRONG TO FULFILL ITS PURPOSE

The way God chooses a man isn't dependent on his strength and power. It is all God. He gives strength to the weak and uses them to do his will.

YES MY BROTHER

God doesn’t call the equipped — He equips the called!

yes brother. God calls the weak to make him strong
