How To Maintain Humility!

In today's world, it is very hard to identify those that have humility inside them, especially when the world is so quick to judge others for things that they most likely do not fully understand. Those people that are so quick to judge others often have a lot of pride and ego about themselves and spend less time examining their own problems and spend the most time accusing others.

Matthew 7:3 Why do you notice a chip that is in your brother's eye, and you do not observe the plank that is in your own eye?

The beginning of humility starts when you are able to say these six words, "I am sorry I was wrong". It has to be those 6 words and not anything else, not beating around the bush or ALLUDING to some sort of apology. You MUST be willing to admit when you are wrong!

Then you will be able to start down the path of humility. The next steps after that is being able to admit with conviction that "I am not perfect, I mess up, I get things wrong". I cannot tell you how many times I have seen someone with so much hubris and pride that it HURTS them to admit that they might just be wrong about something. Some even believe that it hurts them as a leader... but this is a lie. The greatest leaders in the world are able to "I am sorry I was wrong" AND "I am not perfect" in the same breathe almost.

Does that mean they are horrible people incapable of leading others? ABSOLUTELY NOT! It just means they are ABLE to recognize a mistake. What they do next determines if they are a good leader, such as being able to get back up, brush themselves off and then work towards solutions instead of letting that single failure define them.

Another thing that people will encounter on the path to humility is exactly the opposite of ego and pride and that is NOT being able to see what other see in you. Meaning you do not know or understand what others see inside of you that is so great because you yourself cannot see it. You have a low or meek look at yourself. You don't think highly of yourself. In fact, it is this perception that defines the basis for humility.

Our Lord is the most humble of all and Moses is also a great example of humility. Moses did not understand or see what God saw inside him and to this day Moses is the most spoken about Prophet inside the Koran and next is Prophet Isa (Yeshua to Jews, Jesus to Christians). Jews hold Moses is the highest regard as well even to this very day.

Today, I hold @prime-cleric in the highest regard because of his humility. A great mentor and teacher and yet student of the Most High Father and a student of the Lord. He leads the Ecumenical Order of Christ and is a great example that I look up to.

Humility is also the ability to SERVE others before yourself. To put others first. Another example of this is @cardinalkpatrick who selflessly sacrifices her time to serve others and guide others. She is the Vicar General and 3rd in command of the Ecumenical Order of Christ.

The Lord is the ultimate example of humility. He sacrificed paradise to stand up for Mankind and help raise us up from spiritual children to Spiritual Adulthood and maturity. He washed the apostles feet, taught mankind, even died on the cross so that mankind would know life. He selflessly serves our Father in heaven day in and day out every single day. He only does the Father's will and not his own. He leans on Father's understanding, wisdom and guidance. We would all do well to learn from his example.
