1 Corinthians 6 :19
What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own [NKJV]

A. The meaning of dwell

• Abide
• Establish Oneself
• Remain
• Reside
• settle
• stay

The meaning of indwell is to reside within the body of every believer.
The Holy spirit indwells us means ,the Holy Spirit resides and remain in the believer.

B. 1 Corinthians 3 :17
With all of this scripture and the first post in mind ,notice what the Apostle Paul had to say in chapter 6 of the same epistle.

1 Corinthians 6 : 15-20
When we realize that we are temples of God ,it is not only has a sanctifying effect upon our lives ,but it also calls for separation .We are to avoid any unholy alliance with evil.

In his second letter to the Corinthians, Paul gave us this admonition.
2 Corinthians 6 :14-17

C.The indwelling of the spirit is so basic to Christians experience that the believer is described as the spirits temple
The indwelling spirit confirms the believers sonship
Pearlman wrote :"One of the most comprehensive definition of a christian is that he is a man in whom the Holy spirit dwells."
Talbot once wrote ::"you show me a man who is not indwelt by the spirit of God and I will show you a man who is not a child of God."Scripture affirms : "if any man has not tje spirit of christ ,he is nonenof his."
Pharaoh testified of Joseph: "can we find such a one as this is,a man in whom the spirit of God is ?"
The spirits indwelling begins at the moment of conversion.

D. I wonder friend, does the Holy Spirit dwell with you ?

• He does if you know Christ
• And it is your responsibility to use that "temple" in a way that is honouring and pleasing to Him.
• If you have never done so before,why not make a full surrender to yourself - spirit, soul and body to the Lord today?
• Do not grieve the Holy spirit who dwells within you.

The apostle Paul wrote.
Ephesians 4:30

When we yield to the sin of the flesh,or when our relationship with other believers are not characterized by love, kindness and forgiveness ,we grieve the spirit of God.

All three person of trinity of course,are concerned about our behavior.But Paul singled out the Holy spirit in particular because He is the one who in dwells us.

He is the one who produces a new life in us.He introduced us into the body of Christ His seal is upon us as a guarantee of glory. And He exalts Christ by changing us into his likeness.When we are in sin, however ,that work interrupted and our spiritual progress one hindered-and that grieve Him.

If any of us have been guilty of grieving the spirit of God,let us confess our sins,forsake them,accept Gods forgiveness and rededicate ourselves ,to doing His will through the power and strength of the Holy spirit who dwells within us.
