The Key to a Successful Life

하나님을 믿는 크리스천이나 세상사람 누구나 형통한 인생을 꿈꿉니다.
Christians or secular, everyone dreams of a successful life.

형통한 인생이란 성공적인 삶을 말하죠. 우리가 예수를 믿고 교회에 나온 주요한 이유이기도 하고요.
A successful life is a happy, problem-free life. And that is one of main reason for people to come to church.

그러나 교회에 나와서도 형통한 인생을 누리는 사람들을 보는 게 어렵습니다.
But it is hard to see people who truly live happpy, successful lives.

그래서 형식적인 종교의식과 겉만 번드르르한 신앙생활을 반복하는 이들이 대부분입니다.
Most just keep the formality of relgious lifestyle, without nay good outcome.

이들도 처음에는 진지하고 열정적으로 신앙생활을 했겠지만, 오랜 시간이 지나도 삶이 별반 나아지는 것이 없자 힘이 빠진 형국이지요.
These people probably started their Christian lives with passion; but they get tired in the middle, since they don't see any positive changes.

그래서 우리가 예수를 믿고 교회에 나와서 전지전능한 하나님의 자녀가 되었는데, 왜 형통한 인생을 누리지 못하는지 찬찬히 살펴보고 싶습니다.
So I would like to take a look at the reason why people do not enjoy great, successful lives, even when they come to God as His children.

네가 네 하나님 여호와의 말씀을 삼가 듣고 내가 오늘 네게 명령하는 그의 모든 명령을 지켜 행하면 네 하나님 여호와께서 너를 세계 모든 민족 위에 뛰어나게 하실 것이라 네가 네 하나님 여호와의 말씀을 청종하면 이 모든 복이 네게 임하며 네게 이르리니 성읍에서도 복을 받고 들에서도 복을 받을 것이며 네 몸의 자녀와 네 토지의 소산과 네 짐승의 새끼와 소와 양의 새끼가 복을 받을 것이며 네 광주리와 떡 반죽 그릇이 복을 받을 것이며 네가 들어와도 복을 받고 나가도 복을 받을 것이니라(신18:1~6)
The Levitical priests—indeed, the whole tribe of Levi—are to have no allotment or inheritance with Israel. They shall live on the food offerings presented to the Lord, for that is their inheritance. They shall have no inheritance among their fellow Israelites; the Lord is their inheritance, as he promised them.

This is the share due the priests from the people who sacrifice a bull or a sheep: the shoulder, the internal organs and the meat from the head. You are to give them the firstfruits of your grain, new wine and olive oil, and the first wool from the shearing of your sheep, for the Lord your God has chosen them and their descendants out of all your tribes to stand and minister in the Lord’s name always.

If a Levite moves from one of your towns anywhere in Israel where he is living, and comes in all earnestness to the place the Lord will choose(Deuteronomy 18: 1-6)

사랑하는 자여 네 영혼이 잘됨 같이 네가 범사에 잘되고 강건하기를 내가 간구하노라(요삼 1:2)
Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well. (3 John 1: 2)

위의 두 구절은 우리가 바라는 형통한 인생을 약속해 주는 대표적인 성경말씀입니다.
These 2 passages talk about the great life we were promised--the one we are pursuing.

그래서 여러분은 이 말씀의 효력을 경험하며 사십니까? 아니라면 그 이유는 무엇일까요?
So do you feel these passages apply to your life? If not, what is the reason behind it?

하나님의 축복을 받아 형통한 삶을 얻는 두 가지 조건은, 여호와의 말씀을 지키는 것과 그래서 구원을 받아 영혼이 잘 되는 조건을 충족시킨 사람이라는 겁니다.
There are 2 requirements to be met in order to live a peachy life:
1. You must abide by God's words
2. You must receive salvation by following rule number 1.

그러면 하나님의 축복을 받아 세계 모든 민족 위에 뛰어나게 해주실 것이고, 하는 일마다 잘 되고 건강한 삶을 살게 될 것이라는 말씀입니다.
If these requirements are met, you will be blessed by God; He will put you in the highest place and give you everything you ask.

그래서 여러분은 하나님의 명령을 잘 지켜서 천국을 누리는 삶을 누리고 계십니까?
So do you live a life of success by following God?

아니라면 아닌 것이고, 없다면 없는 겁니다.
If not, you're not; there is no such thing as "maybe."

교회에서 가르치는 하나님의 주요한 명령을 잘 지키고 있다고 생각하고 있지만, 여러분의 삶에 형통한 축복을 누리고 있지 않다면 아직 아닌 겁니다.
If you are not receiving God's blessings in every moment of your life, you are not on His good list yet, even if your church tells you so.

그러면 거꾸로 여러분은 천국에 들어가는 자격을 얻지 못하고 있는 중이고, 하나님의 명령을 지키지 않고 살아가고 있다는 반증입니다.
That means you still don't have the right to enter Heaven; that also means you are not abiding by God's words.

말하자면 여러분이 열심히 하고 있는 주일성수와 십일조, 교회봉사와 각종 전도행위가 하나님의 마음을 만족시키지 못하고 있다는 증거인 셈이지요.
In other words, your tithes, attendnence, and various volunteer work for church is not making God happy.

그러면 여전히 당신은 하나님과 상관없이 살아가고 있다는 의미입니다.
That means you have nothing to do with God.

하나님과 상관없이 살아간다는 것은, 하나님의 자녀가 아니라 귀신의 포로가 되어 살고 있다는 게 아닙니까?
Having nothing to do with God probably means you're not a child of God; you probably live as demons' servant.

여러분이 교회를 열심히 다니고 있지만, 여전히 죄를 밥 먹듯이 짓고 살아가면서 불행의 수렁에서 허우적거리고 있습니다.
Alghouth you may vigorously participate in church activities, you still waddle in the pool of sin and misery.

아담에게 이르시되 네가 네 아내의 말을 듣고 내가 네게 먹지 말라 한 나무의 열매를 먹었은즉 땅은 너로 말미암아 저주를 받고 너는 네 평생에 수고하여야 그 소산을 먹으리라 땅이 네게 가시덤불과 엉겅퀴를 낼 것이라 네가 먹을 것은 밭의 채소인즉 네가 흙으로 돌아갈 때까지 얼굴에 땀을 흘려야 먹을 것을 먹으리니 네가 그것에서 취함을 입었음이라 너는 흙이니 흙으로 돌아갈 것이니라 하시니라(창3:17~19)
To Adam he said, “Because you listened to your wife and ate fruit from the tree about which I commanded you, ‘You must not eat from it,’

“Cursed is the ground because of you;
through painful toil you will eat food from it
all the days of your life.
It will produce thorns and thistles for you,
and you will eat the plants of the field.
By the sweat of your brow
you will eat your food
until you return to the ground,
since from it you were taken;
for dust you are
and to dust you will return.” (Genesis 3: 17-19)

아담이 하나님의 명령을 배반하고 선악과를 따먹음으로서 죄의 형벌을 받게 되었는데, 그 형벌은 평생 땀을 흘려야 겨우 먹고 살수 있다는 것과, 죽음을 운명으로 받아들여야 한다는 것이였습니다.
As the punishment of disobeying God and eating the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil, Adam had to work all his life and accept death.

죽음이 오는 통로는 나이가 들어감에 따라 면역력을 잃게 되어, 온갖 성인병으로 고통스러워하다가 죽게 되는 것이죠.
As people get older, they lose immunity and slowly die of all types of illnesses.

그래서 이 죄의 문제를 해결해주신 분이 바로 예수 그리스도이십니다.
Jesus Christ is the answer to this dilemma we face.

아시다시피, 예수님이 우리의 죄를 대신하여 십자가에 돌아가심으로 우리의 죄가 용서함을 받아 죄의 형벌이 그치고, 하나님과의 관계가 회복되어 이 땅에서 천국을 누리다가 영원한 천국에서 살게 될 것이라는 겁니다.
As you know, Jesus died for us, for our sins, on the cross; through his death, we were forgiven; we can now restore the realationship with God, live on this earth like we're in Heaven, and then go up to eternal Heaven afterwards.

그러나 여러분이 지금 천국의 삶을 누리지 못한다면, 여전히 죄의 늪에서 허우적거린다는 얘기가 아니고 무엇이겠습니까?
But what is the point of all this, if you can't enjoy the Heaven created on earth? You are still waddling in the swamp of sin.

그렇다면 여러분을 통치하는 이는 하나님이 아니라 마귀인 셈입니다.
That means you're still living as demons' servant.

그 때에 너희는 그 가운데서 행하여 이 세상 풍조를 따르고 공중의 권세 잡은 자를 따랐으니 곧 지금 불순종의 아들들 가운데서 역사하는 영이라(엡2:2)
In which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. (Ephesians 2: 2)

이제 이 세상에 대한 심판이 이르렀으니 이 세상의 임금이 쫓겨나리라(요12:31)
Now is the time for judgment on this world; now the prince of this world will be driven out. (John 12: 31)

우리의 씨름은 혈과 육을 상대하는 것이 아니요 통치자들과 권세들과 이 어둠의 세상 주관자들과 하늘에 있는 악의 영들을 상대함이라(엡6:12)
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. (Ephesians 6: 12)

위의 성경은 세상을 다스리는 통치자가 하나님이 아니라 악한 영이라고 밝히고 있습니다.
These passages say demons are the rulers of this world, not God.

그들은 막강한 영적 능력과 권세를 가지고 세상을 통치하며 다스리고 있는 왕이라고 말하고 있습니다.
They are the ones with power and authority that rule and control their world, according to the Bible.

그렇다면 악한 영들이 지배하는 사람들이 누구입니까? 바로 죄인들이지요.
Then, who are controlled by demons? They are the sinners.

하나님은 죄를 미워하시며 죄인을 가까이 하실 수 없기 때문에, 악한 영들은 이들을 포로로 잡아 불행에 빠뜨려 고통을 주고 영혼과 생명을 사냥하고 있는 겁니다.
God despises sins and cannot come near sinners; demons devour and feast by hunting souls and lives of people and putting them into misery.

그렇다면 여러분을 다스리는 왕이 하나님입니까, 악한 영입니까?
So... who controls you? God or Satan?

여러분의 영혼이 건조하고 냉랭하며 삶이 고단하고 팍팍하다면 악한 영일 테고, 이 땅에서 천국을 누리며 살고 있다면 하나님의 자녀일 겁니다.
You are a servant of demons if your life is miserable and sad; you are a child of God if you enjoy living the life of Heavn here on earth.

예수를 믿고 교회마당을 밟고 있지만 무능하고 무기력하게 살아가고 있자면, 여전히 당신은 귀신의 포로로 잡혀 있는 기독교인인 셈이지요.
It means you're still a servant of demons, even if you attend church services and claim to believe in Jesus.

물론 그런 얘기를 교회에서 듣는 일이 없겠지만, 성경에는 그렇게 말하고 계십니다.
I know you won't hear this in church; but that is what the Bible says.

하나님의 자녀는 십자가가 높이 솟아있는 건물에서 정규적으로 모여서 예배의식을 드리는 사람들이 아니라, 성령 하나님을 모시고 천국을 경험하며 사는 사람들이기 때문입니다.
Children of God are not the people who gather in church and spend time in religious activities; they are people who live with God and experience Heaven everyday.

또 여기 있다 저기 있다고도 못하리니 하나님의 나라는 너희 안에 있느니라(눅17:21)
“The servant came back and reported this to his master. Then the owner of the house became angry and ordered his servant, ‘Go out quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind and the lame.’ (Luke 14: 21)

예수께서 대답하시되 진실로 진실로 네게 이르노니 사람이 물과 성령으로 나지 아니하면 하나님의 나라에 들어갈 수 없느니라(요3:5)
Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. (John 3: 5)

천국은 하나님께서 우주 한쪽 구석에 건설한 신도시가 아니라, 하나님이 통치하시는 영역을 말하고 있습니다.
Heave is not a newly guilt community somewhere beyond the rainbow; anywhere God reigns is Heaven itself.

그래서 우리 안에 하나님이 들어오셔서 통치하시면 천국이 이루어진 셈입니다.
So you'd already be in Heaven, as soon as God comes insdie you and reigns over you.

그래서 그런 사람들이 이 땅을 떠나면 하나님과 함께 영원한 천국에서 살게 되는 겁니다.
And those people will continuously live in Heaven with God, after they leave the earth.

그런 이들이 바로 육체의 욕심을 쫓던 육체의 사람에서, 성령이 인도하시는 성령의 사람으로 다시 태어난 사람입니다.
And these are the ones who were born again through the Holy Spirit.

그러므로 성령의 사람은 성령의 증거와 변화, 능력과 열매로 보여주어야 합니다.
People of faith must show signs and changes Holy Spirit grants.

여러분이 그동안 교회를 열심히 다녔어도 성령이 함께 하시는 증거가 없다면, 여전히 죄의 종이 되어 악한 영의 포로로 잡혀 있는 셈입니다.
Even if you are an avid churchgoer, if you don't have these signs, you are living as demons' servants, as their hostage.

여러분의 삶에 형통함이 없고 고단하고 팍팍하게 살아가는 이유입니다.
That is why your life is unhappy and fruitless.

그러므로 이제부터라도 형통한 삶을 누리려면 성령의 사람이 되어야 합니다.
You must become the man of the Holy SPirit, if you want to lead a successful life.

성령은 1분짜리 영접기도를 한다고 들어오시는 분이 아니라, 전심으로 쉬지 않고 그분의 이름을 부르며 간절히 찾는 사람에게 들어오십니다.
Holy Spirit doesn't come after hearing a minute long acceptance prayer; he comes to people who continually seek him with all their hearts and souls.

예수님을 3년 반동안 따라다녔던 사도들도 마가요한의 다락방에서 열흘 남짓 전심으로 성령을 부르는 기도를 한 끝에 성령이 임재 하는 기쁨을 맛보았습니다.
Even the apostles, who followed Jesus for over 3 years, received the Holy Spirit after praying over 10 days straight in Mark John's attic.

또한 성령은 이틀만 기도하지 않아도 떠나시는 분이십니다. 자신을 찾지 않고 부르지 않는 자녀들의 마음에 계시지 않기 때문입니다.
And the Holy Spirit leaves if you don't pray for 2 days; he doesn't see the need to stay with people who don't seek him.

그러므로 여러분이 형통한 삶을 얻으려면 하나님을 쉬지 않고 부르는 기도의 습관을 몸에 배야 합니다.
In order to live a successful life, you must call Holy Spirit at all times.

그러면 오래지않아 성령이 내주하셔서, 예수님의 말씀을 생각나게 하고 성경말씀대로 살 수 있는 능력을 주시고 죄와 싸워 이길 힘도 주십니다.
Then the Holy Spirit comes and gives you the power to fight against sins and live according to the Bible.

그런 사람들이 이 땅에서 평안하고 형통하게 살다가 영원한 천국에 들어가는 겁니다.
These people are the ones who live happily, and then go up to Heaven.
