An Open Letter to @uyobong and @steemchurch Members
My name is Paul Savage and my Steemit username is @quillfire. And, I am a Member of the Power House Creatives (Steemitbloggers).
As a younger man, I spent five years in the Legion Etrangere (French Foreign Legion) and a significant amount of that time was spent in countries throughout Africa.
As a soldier, I was instructed in, and readily internalized, the Military Code of Honor.
Inherent in that Honor Code is the belief that "Even in War, there must be Rules" ... and that those Rules are to govern one's manner of comportment.
In the present @theycallmedan 20,000 STEEM Delegation Contest, the Power House Creatives are, again, being frustrated by the fact that their primary competitor is engaging in rampant vote-buying/selling. In this present contest, that it your organization, @steemchurch.
Following the "voting irregularities" that occurred in the prior @theycallmedan 10,000 STEEM Delegation Contest, in which the Power House Creatives placed second, "voting filters" were put in place in an effort to ensure a fairer follow-up Contest. And yet, Steemit's perennial problem with cheating has simply morphed, employing techniques that the filters cannot detect.
@crypto.piotr, Wallet Spam & "Upvotes for dPoll-Votes"
Upon the announcement of the 20,000 STEEM Delegation Contest, the Power House Creatives' Commander-In-Chief, @jaynie, and our Second-In-Command, @zord189, were contacted by @crypto.piotr who was offering a deal: He would Wallet Spam hundreds, if not thousands, of Venezuelans and other Steemians from poor countries, offering them compensation in exchange for dPoll Votes.
In payment for his services, upon winning the 20,000 STEEM Delegation, the Power House Creatives would delegate to him, 1,000 STEEM. A kick-back.
In any system based upon "voting," vote-buying/selling is the very definition of corruption. Ethically, one cannot help but wonder if the immorality of the undertaking is not magnified by the fact that it seeks to exploit the "poorest amongst us" ... turning them into, quite literally, "penny-whores."
@jaynie and @zord189 turned him down. @steemchurch, apparently, did not.
Out of respect for the religious nature of your organization, I will refrain from including pictures (screenshots) that "speak a thousand words."
Of My Code, and Yours
I will not presume to instruct you upon the morality inherent in Biblical teachings, but would merely proffer that, like the Military Code of Honor, religions instruct their followers to uphold Moral Rules of Conduct.
Nothing about blockchain technology or cryptocurrencies has in any way effected the manner in which the Military Code of Honor constrains my behavior, and I doubt that they ought to effect the way that your Code constrains yours. Indeed, you seem to be inherently aware of the problem at hand as articulated in your recent post:
CAUTION TO VOTERS – PLEASE ADHERE TO VOTING RULES ON 20K DELEGATION POLL
During a personal audit on the votes cast on the 20k delegation poll courtesy of @Theycallmedan, I observed that some users in their dire desire to support the @Steemchurch did not observe the voting rules and qualification criteria set for voters. While, I appreciate their support for @Steemchurch but, I, as a Priest of @Steemchurch do sound this alert and caution to them as well as voters in the future and hereby state that ...
Given the scale of what's going on, that's a bit of an understatement ... but I appreciate the sentiment.
@uyobong and my friends at @steemchurch: Let there be Honor in Victory, so that there may be Honor in Defeat.
If the Power House Creatives had engaged in such systemic vote-buying/selling, I would now be publicly calling for them to disqualify themselves from the Contest as condition of my continued Membership.
I expect no less from the Members of @steemchurch.
Sincere Regards
Paul Savage@quillfire
Member, The Power House Creatives
I must truly appreciate you @Quillfire for this tag and the courage to air out your views about the on-going 20k delegation poll by @Theycallmedan. I hope, you, the entire @Steemitbloggers community and the entire #steem users would find time to read through this response:
I would advice that you do your best to win the heart of #steem users to vote for your community and dissuade from attacking the character of others. I will be glad to have you share your purported screenshots.
Fro me, #steem is a family, whether @steemchurch or @steemitbloggers earn 20k delegation, it is for the good of #steem users in as much as it would be used judiciously for the growth of the system.
In all, The arms of @steemchurch are wide open to accept every #steem users (even you and @steemitbloggers members), to share our love and freedom NOW and after the polls.
Thank you.
Yours in the fight for Freedom via #steem blockchain,

Dear Paul,
This matter has been acknowledged and addressed by our organisation on multiple occasions.
Whilst this Knight is enjoying the banter surrounding this friendly, inter-community competition, he did fear that some might take it too seriously. Unfortunately friend - you have taken it more seriously than all others.
This Knight does not appreciate your tone or the manner in which you have escalated this issue. And bringing into question the integrity of the SteemChurch is reprehensible.
When all is said and done friend, you had better hope that all your votes are legitimate. One should only ever claim the moral high-ground, if they themselves are free of sin.

@sirknight,
Thanks for the reply.
Does this mean that the vote-buying has ceased? If so, thank you.
While this Poet is enjoying the banter surrounding this friendly, inter-community competition, he did fear that some might attempt to buy the Prize instead of earn it.
I'm a serious guy.
How alternatively would you have had me handle the issue? And my tone ... my tone, is that of one who believes in honest and honorable competition. Respecting tone ... you may wish to re-read your comment.
With respect, I did not "bring into question the integrity of the SteemChurch." It was the SteemChurch's wallet-spamming to solicit dPoll votes in exchange for money, from the poorest members of the blockchain, that brought into question its integrity. My words merely articulated your actions.
To quote myself:
One Man, cannot give another Man - Honor,
Nor, may another take it away.
Honor, and Dishonor ... is something we do for ourselves.
.
I have no reason to believe that even a single of our votes is anything but completely legitimate.
No one is without sin.
That said, my conduct, and that of my fellow Power House Creatives, in this Contest has been exemplary. There was a single incident of a new Member (one week) offering compensation in exchange for dPoll votes in a Twitter video. When brought to my attention, I immediately contacted our Second-In-Command, @zord189, who immediately addressed the issue. The Twitter video in question was immediately removed and we have no reason to believe that it resulted in even one dPoll vote.
Errors in judgement occur. How they are dealt with determines the reputation of an organization.
And yes, in this respect ... I do claim the moral high-ground.

Excellent reply my friend, truly excellent - respect!
Believe it or not, this Knight understands your frustrations.
When our parishioners expressed an interest in this competition, SirKnight worried that problems like this would arise. He should have put a stop to it then. He did not and he blames himself.
He does not blame parishioners for their enthusiasm - they are proud of their Church and want to help it to grow.
He does not blame @theycallmedan for setting communities against one another in the first place. This is part of the excitement of STEEM.
This Knight does feel you are being too harsh on @crypto.piotr. Steem needs driven and innovative entrepreneurs as much as it needs French Legionnaires and Freedom Fighting Knights. Persons such as Piotr need to be celebrated for their community expanding initiatives, not shamed.
The reality is this Quill, this Knight and our Church would rather look upon the Power House Creatives as friends and allies, rather than foes.
Should the SteemChurch win, and this Knight never really thought we would - but should we... we will instruct @callmedan to direct 9,000 SP to Steemit Bloggers, 9,000 to SteemChurch and 2,000 to @crypto.piotr (We do not want to lose Piotr to another blockchain) Though this Knight has no doubt that a man of your capabilities will ensure victory for his community.
And who knows Quill, one day this knight may call upon your skills in the name of the SteemChurch. He hopes that when the time comes, you will answer the call.
I am... SirKnight.

Hi @sirknight,
I am going to interject here very briefly and to address only one aspect. To my knowledge, the delegation from Steem Church to crypto.piotr is no longer optional, as this was the deal which he canvassed – the one which I declined, because he was not willing to offer transparency regarding the voter collaboration that he would be bringing to the table. This put a bad smell up my nose because how would I announce collaboration between specific individuals and my community members (at a price for a cut of the SP won) if I had no validation of who they were? You have referred to him as an entrepreneur, an “innovative” individual. I too, a business owner and entrepreneur of 18 years know very well that when complete transparency of something is not willingly given, then reservation kicks in. I understand now why my request for this put his back up and generated a response of “offence” – because he had no true connection with these individuals. He simply planned to send wallet tips with generic memos one by one, hoping for the best. This, in my opinion – is NOT the sort of behaviour that defines an innovative entrepreneur.
It is one thing to generate support through incentives such as contests and genuine connection, this is a natural part of competition but it is another thing ENTIRELY to guarantee the vote support of people who are completely oblivious to the fact that their votes were being plated in the first place.
Much like I declined his offer, I am declining yours. This is @theycallmedan's poll and respectfully, he gets to set the rules and rewards as well as decide how they will be distributed. Win or lose – My community and I have no place to dictate such. We will continue our efforts as we did from the start and will graciously accept the outcome, whatever it is.
I trust that you will respect my decision on this and the fact that this will be my only engagement in the matter - All the best to you, Steem Church and all other parties for the remainder of the poll.

Okay, now some Steemians are starting to take advantage of this Knight's good nature.
Firstly, SirKnight has zero tolerance for bullying. No more harassment of Piotr.
Secondly, good business people tend not to publicise the details of their business dealings, regardless of personal feelings.
Now SirKnight threw you an olive branch, expecting nothing in return and in the spirit of good sportsmanship. For his trouble he is subject to more inferences of shady business dealings, bad smells and cheating.
Now Jaynie, out of respect for the cool French Legionaire, SirKnight will let you in on a poorly kept secret. This Knight has hundreds of Steem accounts. Seriously hundreds! If he wanted to win, he would have.
He also has some serious SP up his sleeve. So he would make a very good friend and a terrible enemy.
Be well Jaynie.

Dear @liltom002, @quillfire, @zord189, @jaynie, @sirknight, @emiliocabrera, @uyobong
I don't mind telling you what was the deal. After all I'm the one who came up with "an offer".
As you may now, each participant who passed first round was supposed to receive 1000SP delegation from Dan. I assumed that if I will pull out from competition (and support any other community) then my only wish would be not to lose that 1000SP delegation. After all I don't need to 'earn' but why would I like to 'lose out' ?
I offered support to SteemitBloggers without any financial expectations, only asking to ensure that if for any reason I would not receive that mentioned 1k delegation, then SteemitBloggers will support me with that amount of delegation.
I believed it's very fair offer. I still do. And the only explanation I can come up for entire tense situation is miscommunication.
Taking into consideration the fact that I'm not native english speaker - I can only assume that I was understood wrongly by @jaynie
ps. In my own latest post I mentioned also, that when @SteemChurch started winning in that dpoll then I came up with an idea, which I thought would help to build a healthy connection between our few communities. I suggested to people I support, that if we win then perhaps we could share some of that 20k with 2-3 other competitors. @Steemitbloggers were definitely on that list.
I only figured that this way we can leave any tension related to this contest behind us, and start new chapter in collaborating with each other. Perhaps my intentions were misjudged. I don't really know any more.
Regardless - I congratulate to entire team of @steemitbloggers and I wish you all the best.
Yours
Piotr

That's very true @sirknight
I believed that my "offer of support" has been very fair and I still do not see how could I potentially benefit in any financial way.
Thank you for your kind words @sirknight. Seriously getting to know you guys was worth all the trouble.
Anyway I don't really think that it matters at all if I offered anyone any deal for my hard work (after all I've spent around 25-30h total during that campaign).
What matters and saddens me is the fact, that usually throwing "meat" at your opponents and spreading false accusations is part of "the game" that allows one to discredit someone else (or discredit entire group of people, as SteemChurch has also been accuses of paying people for votes).
Usually after competition winner is shaking hand with those who lost. What we're witnessing is horrific. Can you imagine any sport discipline, where person who won is still acting like it's a "war" and trying to discredit opponents and is spreading false rumours, damaging this perso reputation ?
I honestly do not understand why it is so hard to see this contest as a small competition. They won, I shaked their hand and I said "congratulate guys". I would expect that we can carry on with life. And instead we're all wasting such a life by discussing topic, which is based on untrue facts.
Just sad, that something (contest) that could unite many is dividing our small steemit community even more.

I have been oblivious about this drama until just now.
Then I went to my wallet and had five different deposits from members asking for support and a vote of the steemchurch community for this delegation.
Up until the first delegation contest from @theycallmedan, I had never heard nor seen the steemchurch tag or page.
I believe people, whether at their job and up for review for a raise, looking for support or whatever the circumstances in life are should be rewarded for their integrity, work ethic and performance; not by bribing, infiltrating someone else's space or requesting such things.
I belong to quite a few communities and groups on steemit who are ALL asking members to support, rally for and vote for their communities; which I believe puts many people in a position of picking their favorite.
Being a mother of three, that's like asking me to pick which child is my favorite.

@goldendawne,
I am a strong advocate of Meritocracy.
The reason is simple: In any competitive system, of which Steemit is one, there must be some method of justifying the distribution of rewards.
Steemit has "Limited Resources," that is, it's Reward Pool CANNOT provide everyone with a "material reward" without dramatically increasing the Money Supply (printed money) and thereby triggering massive inflation ... and the collapse of the currency's price.
And so, there will inevitably be a hierarchy. All throughout Nature and other human-created systems, we see a phenomenon called the Pareto Principle. In effect, the square root of the number of participants will create half the outcomes and generate half the rewards. Hence, out of a group of 100 people, one would expect 10 SuperStars to generate 50% of the Great Content and receive 50% of the Payouts.
In more than three years, Steemit has not managed to create a single SuperStar.
Why not?
I would proffer that it's because the Curation System meant to identify and compensate such individuals is castrated. It is castrated by game-rigging that instead diverts compensation to one vote-buying/selling mechanism or another.
This is not sustainable. Steemit has "gotten away with murder" for this long because it had an effective monopoly ... no competition. THAT will change. When it does, there will be Hell to pay if reforms are not soon enacted.

@quillfire, in regards to my position, I was also nominated for the
competition by @sc-v, "Steemchurch Venezuela", parish of the great Steemchurch, of course all the vows went to the mother church, in the midst of so many words, here is only one problem: the love of the tangible, the power, root of all evils, it will be because the gospel that I preach is the one that I live, if in my hands I had the option of giving a winner, maybe I would give it to their community, there are some words that I like very much that Jesus spoke; "If someone takes off your cloak, also leave the robe," I've seen all kinds of comments here, all of them I leave this reflection:
Maybe because I live in Venezuela and I come from the streets of pain, of misery, of hunger, that this seems so superficial, so absurd, there are so many problems, so much suffering, and taking the time to argue for a delegation, it is a a scenario that I will never contemplate, it will be that I have worked so much, and I have lost positions that, as you think, perhaps correspond to me, but there is a place that no one can occupy and that is what we have in the heart of God, God's plans are unstoppable in We, when we are connected to the source of the blessing, do not need anything else, I can deliver everything now, and sure that tomorrow I will recover twice as much.
"And indeed, I still esteem all things as a loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus, my Lord, for whose sake I have lost everything, and I consider it as rubbish, to win Christ"
Philippians 3: 7
The world needs to change, and we aim at all, governments, companies, communities, money, but we never look at what we have inside, "the heart", and that the change must begin by ourselves, today a child with cancer died , if this delegation would have saved his life, he would be in the line of battle, in contention for it, nothing is worth more than life, it is a divine gift that we must take care of, the rest is temporary, it comes and goes.
It is unfortunate what happened!

I've actually had substantial interaction with @crypto.piotr prior to this Contest and I believe him to be a good guy trying to do a good thing. Indeed, despite my obvious involvement with Power House Creatives (SteemitBloggers), I nominated him with mine and my daughter's account so that he'd have a chance at receiving 1,000 STEEM (the 19 teams that don't win the 20,000 STEEM Delegation still receive a 1,000 STEEM Delegation as consolation).
But I cannot condone his actions in this Contest.
In our numerous interactions, I wrote extensively about the deleterious effects of vote buying/selling upon the blockchain. Those deleterious effects Do Not disappear because you do it in the name of a noble cause. The ends do not justify the means.
That said, the critique in my Open Letter is not meant to be personal.

I received your link and it is obvious to me right away, that you do not want to be bothered with this method of communication. I respect that and I won't send you memos again in the future.
Personally I can hardly see the difference in reaching out to someone by sending memo (as this is very common here on Steemit, most of us are receiving few spam memos daily from bots) or mentioning same people within one post (like others did). After all in both cases result is very similar.
It would be great if Steemit would allow people to build their audience efficiently. But reality is that there are no tools that would allow people to become noticed. Sending memos is the only time-efficient way of doing it. That is sad reality.
Thank you again for sharing this link with me. If one day I will realize that witnesses and whales (using their bots) stopped any activity that looks like "spam" then I will follow their steps. So far they are giving very opposite example.

@naturalmedicine,
I hear you.
But here's the thing: The blockchain is dispirited and has extremely low morale. Initiatives like those of @theycallmedan have the potential to re-energize the lethargic.
But they are for naught so long as cheating is tolerated.
So, how can one stop the cheating? Not with filters (although the current filters helped). You solve it with a sentence:
"... and I reserve the right to disqualify, it whole or in part, any Participant engaged in improper conduct including, but not limited to, vote buying/selling."
That's it. Problem solved.
Satoshi's Dream was that some magical system of algorithms could be concocted that would remove the need for human involvement ... and human discretion. And so, the world of cryptocurrencies has become obsessed with ideological bromides and empty platitudes to justify what is, on its face, ridiculous: "Quality is subjective."
Really?
You can't tell the quality difference between me singing vs Elvis? Yes, we could legitimately argue who was better, Elvis or The Beatles ... but my vocal renditions will not be part of the discussion. And, whether Elvis or The Beatles ultimately prevails at the Top of Trending, who cares? Can anyone argue that they weren't both Great? Let people quibble about their relative greatness ... but get them both into Trending so that the quibbling can begin.
Or ... we could settle for Quill Croons because I was the highest bidder.

Question: About the poll. Isn't a delegation to the winner essentially a gift award? There is no contractual obligation to deliver the reward, right?
With delegation it isn't really the same as handing somebody $10,000 cash in a suitcase. It's more like letting them borrow the car. If they take bad care of the car before the vacation is over, you can take the keys away early.
The only thing is it looks a bit low when somebody ducks out of the promised contest reward they offered. Wouldn't people understand if it was revealed the reward recipient earned it unjustly, or used it for purposes the delegator does not want to be maligned with?

@creativetruth,
Ironically, there is a great deal of Honor involved.
Yes, you are right ... there is nothing, pragmatically, stopping a Contest Sponsor from reneging upon their allocated delegation. It's a matter of Goodwill.
The irony is that the beneficiaries of this Honor System are obtaining the benefits, dishonorably. You send the bad guys to Heaven, and the good guys to Hell.
Somehow, our society has managed to parlay itself into stupidity with the mantra, "Don't Judge Me!" Are truth-tellers not to be elevated over liars? The loyal over traitors? The honorable over the dishonorable?
Of necessity, human beings are judgment-making machines. Indeed, it is one of our primary survival advantages. Being able to accurately distinguish friend from foe is a matter of life and death. And yet, all this baloney ... despite the obvious evidence to the contrary ... about there being no way to distinguish between the truth and a lie, the fair and the unfair or quality vs crap. Everything's subjective.
Personally, being a fellow morally comfortable with using the brain that I've been given (on the assumption that that's what it's there for), I don't lose much sleep over elevating the noble while castigating the cretin.

@dandays,
I'm glad you approve.
There was debate within PHC about whether we should say anything at all. No one wanted to look like "sour grapes." But it's not "sour grapes" to point out obvious malfeasance. Steemit has a huge "cheating problem" and if even religious groups cannot play fair, then the blockchain really is in trouble.
Besides, even in Heaven ... there are Angels who carry swords. Anyone who believed I would sit by and say nothing doesn't know me very well.
BTW ... stop calling me "Mr. Savage."

The "sour grapes effect" is a real thing. We live in a "Victim Culture" and the world is filled with people moaning about why they aren't winning, and people get tired of it. I know I do.
But at some point, one has to call a spade a spade.

Dear @crypto.piotr.
Nobody can discredit no one while you (or anyone else for that matter) have the intellectual resources & capabilities to show clearly the evidences and prove beyond any doubt that their positions, beliefs (or suspicions) are an irrevocable and ultimate truth. So, in my not so humble opinion, no damage has been already done to anybody whatsoever.
Therefore, each word, advice and recommendation that I've already said to @quillfire is absolutely valid also for you to apply.
Never ever be afraid to raise your voice to tell 'your' truth no matter what. And never ever fear to pivot and walk away of the busiest road to prove that.
The concrete evidences and the logical reasoning will always accompany and will be on the side of the most forceful truth. (Until an even more forceful truth demonstrates otherwise.) };)

I think we may see it differently. I was already approached be few users asking me about those accusations. Few did contact me. But how many people out there will never reach out to me and I will never have a chance to "clear my name"?
Of course I'm not really upset and I don't want to make this dramma even worse. There is very little I can do anyway.
The problem is not so much about "telling your truth". The problem is the fact, that there is no way I could reach out to hundreds of people who read those accusations and hearing my name will always bring only negative emotions. That cannot be repair.
It's a heavy blow for someone like me, who invested tons of hours in building my presence on this platform. And regardless if any evidence of my "crime" of buying votes will be displayed or will not - damage is indeed done already.
Hope you can see it from my angle?
Anyway thank you for sharing your opinion. I always value the fact that you're so very responsive.

I can understand that we may see it differently. Mostly, because you are still a youngster and I am already a pretty old cranky chap.
"Clear your name"? Repair your "crime"? ¿Who really cares? ¿What crime? ¿Why the heck you should have to pay a rat ass to a bunch of unknows about what they can claim or think of you?
Oh yeah... because you are a 'marketing guy' who his actions mostly move on those 'marketing waters' and credibility is an utmost asset in those activities. ¿Right?
Again, tit for tat. You should only care for what's valuable and I mean it ¡VALUABLE! for you regardless of people's opinion. "Who owes nothing fears nothing"
And gradually everyone in due time eventually will find the truth. Meanwhile, you will have learned new things and will be doing other things way ahead of them.
But yeah, I'm well aware that it will still take you a while to 'stumbleupon' my singular and old fashioned point of view. :)

@nathanmars,
A Few Good Men.
That is what the blockchain so desperately needs ... and it has them by the boatload. But, in reality, if a few of them are not Whales, we're in trouble. The systemic cheating sets up negative feedback loops and prevents the establishment of positive ones. Most notably, the Curation System, meant to quickly elevate High Quality Content and direct compensation accordingly, is broken to its core.
It is a subject about which I've written extensively (including solutions and precise mechanisms for their implementation).
@theycallmedan's initiative, and yours, were designed to re-energize a blockchain, to be force-multipliers of underlying endeavor. But a hundred times zero ... is still zero. You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.
Unless we enact reforms to dramatically reduce the amount of game-rigging, the serious content producers, like myself, will go elsewhere at the first sign of a viable alternative.
Don't get me wrong ... I LOVE Steemit ... and I want it to be the victor. But we need a Few Good Whales to become leaders. While I do not possess a Wallet of consequence, the same cannot be said of my pen. And, for any Whale willing to stand up and assume the mantle, I would use it to raise up an army in support. Nathan, do not under-estimate this ... many people on Steemit, with reputation scores in the 60's and 70's, are at the point of utter disgust ... and it will be words that determine whether they stay or leave.
I'm in advertising and for 4-5 months, I've been sitting on a 2-month-long advertising campaign that would trigger a flood of new users into Steemit. It's cost? The upvote support of a handful of Whales. So why haven't I launched it?
Steemit doesn't have a problem with attracting users ... it has a problem keeping them (one of those negative feedback loops I mentioned). New users arrive, discover how the reality does not even faintly resemble the theory, and leave. But they leave disgruntled and share their disgruntlement with others.
No amount of ra-ra and Power of Positivity self-delusion will fix this problem. What will fix it is reforms that put an end to the systemic cheating so that Steemit can become what it was designed to be ... a brilliant idea with the potential to be a Killer App.
While it would be preferable to have the support of all Whales and Witnesses (unlikely), there is an alternative way to accomplish, indirectly, what is required. If you're interested, I'd be more than happy to discuss the matter via DM.

The whole thing can be dispiriting but here's the thing: Most people are decent human beings. Not saints, but decent folks. Most are reasonable and effected by reasonable arguments. Most are fair and offended by unfairness.
The problem, though, is a perennial one: The Silent Majority remain stubbornly true to their moniker ... Silent.
Sooner or later, though, a tipping point is reached and even they find their voices. I'm doing whatever I can to inspire them to hurry up the process. :-)

Hello @quillfire
My name is Ndianabasi Tom and I am a member of @steemchurch!
I believe the leaders will respond more on this allegations, I'd say! But let me point out a few facts.
@steemchurch is Christian community that will always stand to promote honesty, fairness, justice and every other Christian and moral values one could think of. So, it is worthy of note that a contest will not make @steemchurch to compromise its stands because 'a good name is always better than all'.
Firstly, I will like you to know that @steemchurch is not in any deal or whatsoever with @crypto.piotr. @Steemchurch is not giving or paying him for whatever he is doing; there was no deal/agreement and there is no kick back. He might just be indulging in those acts out of his desire to support the church; no strings attached!
I also feel that one is at liberty to use whatever strategy he/she wants as long as it is not illegal. I can recall vividly when Steem won in the Netcoin listing contest and it was as a function of the strategy that was being put in place by @oracle-d and I don't remember Litecoin, Verge or any other contesting coin coming out to criticize steem's strategy calling it vote buying/selling simply because it is uncalled for. Sending memos and beckoning people to vote is similar to making a blog post and asking people to vote also.
The @steemchurch did notice some irregularities in the voting though and that was why @uyobong made a disclaimer and warning post yesterday. Voters were asked in the post to follow strictly the laid down rules!
So, there is no point trying to paint one black just to gain favour. Like you said, whoever wins should win with honour!
Peace!

@liltom002,
Ndianabasi, thank you for your detailed reply.
I am a poet and, in fairness, that gives me an advantage in a debate where "fancy wordplay" may give the appearance of insight where none exists. So, I will keep my queries and comments as prosaic as possible.
If one "exchanges money a vote" ... what would you call it other than "vote-buying?"
As I mentioned in my Open Letter:
To which part of that statement would you take exception? Do you not believe that "vote-buying" in an election, of any kind, represents "corruption?" "Sold to the highest bidder" systems are not called polls or elections, they're called "auctions."
For more than a year, I have written extensively about the corrosive effects of cheating on Steemit. About how the destructive actions of "Free Riders" (the few) are destroying the constructive actions of the Honest and Honorable (the many).
Why would you not have the expectation that you should have to EARN the 20,000 STEEM Delegation? And, in that respect, what have you or your fellow Members done to do just that? Of course, you could ask the same question of me, couldn't you?
For starters:

.
.
.
.
.
.
Nigeria is a country with a rich poetic history. And hence, I'm sure you can appreciate the effort it took to write any of those poems. And, there is another Poem-Contest currently underway.
.

Can you spot the difference is our respective strategies?
Merit vs Manipulation.
Do you not believe that the elevation of one over the other will have consequences for the blockchain as a whole?
In poetry and other literary art forms, this is what is referred to as ... irony.

You can easily access these on a smart phone, using an app like Partiko (@partiko) to interact with the Steem blockchain, as stated elsewhere ... I use both approaches, depending on the situation ...

Compensation? In what form? could you please let me know.
We know each other for quite some time. I fully respect you and value your opinion.
I would only like to underline, that this sentence is absolutely false and has nothing to do with reality. And Im not asking you to take my word for granted. Im only asking you to do some basic research.
Guys, you WON that contest. I really don't understand why is it so important to continue those false accusations. Contest is over. No need to underline your opponents and bring more tension. Especially knowing that noone is even starting a fight with you.
I congratulate all of you and I seriously do not see a reason why shall we continue escallating tension between all of us. I don't really think it serves anyone.
It clearly seem that we've experiencing some misinformation here.
The truth is, that I spoke to @zord189 and @jaynie right before second round of contest started. And I offered my support without really asking anything in return. The only think I asked was delegation of 1000SP
in case if @theycallmedan would cancel his own 1k delegation to my account because I decided to pull out from competition.
I really think it's very fair.
My goal was to support them hoping that it will allow us to work closer in the future. I figured that by investing my own time, effort and limited resources (memo's are not really that cheap) I will build their trust. Unfortunatelly I didn't manage to build enough trust and I got impression, that Jaynie didn't believe in my honest intention.
Of course I cannot blame her. And I'm only saying all of that so you would realize that I wans't really buying votes (I wouldn't do that neither for @SteemChurch or @Steemitbloggers) and that we could work together. It just didn't work out. To bad. But still I see no reason to encourage more hostile relationship between all of us.
Hope it make sense,
AND LET ME UNDERLINE: I already congratulated @SteemitBloggers in my recent post and I think this is how we should finish this contest. By "shaking each others" hand. Instead of discrediting opponents with full range of a "reach" (after all I'm being discredited by leader of really huge community).
Would it be really that difficult? Is it really better to go after each other, instead of collaborating? I don't get it.
Printscreen from my post published just yesterday:

Do you really think that this is the way "cheater" would behave?

Dear @sirknight
Very true. The fact is that someone stubborn and living in US (plus having more resources) could open lawsuit against @quillfire and few others. We've all "evidence" necessary to start such a lawsuit. Which can drag for very long and be unpleasent.
Obviously I'm not in such a position and I would not really care, as I believe that it is simply "miunderstanding / miscommunication" between few parties.
But surely it's wise to think 10 times before posting any accusations on blockchain. After all it cannot be removed or edited.
ps. Please @quillfire don't take my words as an "attack". I respect you and value you to much to fight with you. All my replies have only one purpose: I want to clear the air between us and continue our healthy relationship here on Steemit.
