Do Not Be Deceived, You Can Miss Heaven

in steemchurch •  6 years ago  (edited)

The saddest thing that could happen to a person is when the Lord rejects him from entering heaven. This is the moment of grace where we have got all the time to make things right. It will be too late to make any amends or change your ways when Jesus appears in his glory to reward everyone according to his work.

Many people are mistaken and they assume that getting access to heaven is all about the work they are doing for God alone. Some have followed the erroneous teachings of ones saved forever saved and are living their Christian life they way they please.

Satan and his cohorts are working tirelessly each day to get as many people they can get to make hell full of souls. He has actually blinded the eyes of many and is misleading them to serve God in a manner which is not in accordance with His word.

When you see some clergymen or Christians who are supporting what the Scriptures are against such us homosexualism, polygamous marriage, alcoholism, that should alert you it is the devil who is at work in this end time so there is a need for much vigilance.

Something the holy Scriptures has already warned us against. We should not be taken unaware.

Deception is on the rise today in our churches and we the followers of Christ must be very watchful and be prayerful for our enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion seeking to devour anyone he can get as his prey.

It is not about how you start the race that matters but how you finish the it.

In one of Jesus' teachings about the kingdom of heaven he showed us the things that can deceive many people and make them miss heaven.

Let's take a closer look at some of the things he shared that we need to take note :

Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father Who is in heaven. Many will say to Me on that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name and driven out demons in Your name and done many mighty works in Your name? And then I will say to them openly (publicly), I never knew you; depart from Me, you who act wickedly [disregarding My commands]. Mathew 7:21-23

Profession of Jesus as Lord only will not guarantee your entry to Heaven

Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father Who is in heaven vs 21

True Christians are those who have really confessed Jesus as Lord and go beyond just confession to doing God's will, they are the right candidate to enter heaven on the day of judgement.

Those who openly declare Jesus as Lord but don't do what he says will surely miss their chance in getting to heaven. You can be a zealous prayer warrior, a powerful singer or a good preacher and can profess the Lord's name daily but your failure to do what he says can lead you to hell.

Great and mighty works you have wrought for God will not guarantee your entry to Heaven

Many will say to Me on that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name and driven out demons in Your name and done many mighty works in Your name? And then I will say to them openly (publicly), I never knew you; depart from Me, you who act wickedly [disregarding My commands]. Mathew 7:22-23

One of the things that will deceive many and make them miss heaven is the kind of work they assumed to be pleasing to God when it was something they did amiss.

A lot of miracle workers will approach Jesus on the day of judgement and talk about the number of miracles they performed but will still be rejected. Gift of performing miracles, casting out demons and any other gifts the Lord gives us is for demonstration of God's power to unbelievers to see and believe in the Gospel.

Your gifts will bring you before men but it is real holiness or sanctification that will bring you before God.

Revealing God's will to people through prophecy alone is not so important as knowing God's will and doing it yourself. There is no sense in showing people the way when you yourself has actually lost the way.

Entering Heaven is guaranteed if you are doer of God's will. Be vigilant!

This is indeed a message that I think everyone needs to take seriously. "Depart from me for I never knew you"scariest word that I believe we all don't want to hear from Jesus on the day of Judgement and so we need to serve God well and work on our salvation with fear and trembling.

You are very right @collinz, we need to serve God and work on our salvation with fear and trembling

We don't have to work FOR our salvation. That's unbiblical. The thief on the cross was saved as soon as he believed. So we don't have to worry about whether or not we'll stay saved.

Question: "What does it mean to work out salvation with fear and trembling (Philippians 2:12)?"

Answer: In Philippians 2:12-13, Paul writes, “Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed – not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence – continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his purpose.”

This text is often misused to instill fear into people, warning them that it means that they can lose salvation. What does it mean to work out our salvation with fear and trembling? Paul can hardly be encouraging believers to live in a continuous condition of nervousness and anxiety. That would contradict his many other exhortations to peace of mind, courage, and confidence in the God who authors our salvation. The Greek word translated "fear" in this context can equally mean "reverence" or "respect." Paul uses the same phrase in (2 Corinthians 7:15) where he refers to Titus as being encouraged by the Corinthians’ reception of him “with fear and trembling,” that is, with great humility and respect for his position as a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Paul himself came to the Corinthian church in “weakness and fear, and with much trembling” (1 Corinthians 2:3), mindful of the great and awesome nature of the work in which he was engaged.

The sense in which we are to work out our salvation in fear and trembling is twofold. First, the Greek verb rendered “work out” means "to continually work to bring something to completion or fruition." We do this by actively pursuing obedience in the process of sanctification, which Paul explains further in the next chapter of Philippians. He describes himself as “straining” and “pressing on” toward the goal of Christlikeness (Philippians 3:13-14). The “trembling” he experiences is the attitude Christians are to have in pursuing this goal—a healthy fear of offending God through disobedience and an awe and respect for His majesty and holiness. "Trembling" can also refer to a shaking due to weakness, but this is a weakness of higher purpose, one which brings us to a state of dependency on God. Obedience and submission to the God we revere and respect is our “reasonable service” (Romans 12:1-2) and brings great joy. Psalm 2:11 sums it up perfectly: “Serve the LORD with fear and rejoice with trembling.” We work out our salvation by going to the very source of our salvation—the Word of God—wherein we renew our hearts and minds (Romans 12:1-2), coming into His presence with a spirit of reverence and awe.

From hell to hell will be a disastrous. Thanks for reminding us of what we await for as Christians when we do the will of his word. Thanks @sc-g.

Yes @bigssam, hell is a place nobody wishes to be, heaven should be our prime focus

Good reflection, it is a time to meditate on the old ways, to look at the primitive Church and to reevaluate the facts of the present Church. Correct, exhort and help Christians.

know that he who turns the sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death, and will cover a multitude of sins.

Santiago 5:20

Thank you @emiliocabrera, spreading the Gospel and winning souls for God is a divine assignment God has given to us and we must do it.

They haven’t been listening. Jesus has been speaking but they have been dull of hearing. They refuse to know because they love their sin. They should have seen God in the life of Jesus. The good news is that some believed after His words. If you want to go to hell by default then just keep doing what you are doing. Why die when you can live? Why not accept God’s atonement for your sin?

Great message you have shared with us @dwayne. many have paid deaf ears, have remained adamant and are recalcitrant to the Gospel. It is very pathetic to see people who still want to die when they can actually live

All that is running through my mind as l keep reading this post is for many are called but few are choosen, which means a little move we miss heaven ,let walk with an open mind and understand the need to join Jesus in His coming....God bless steemchurch forever

We need to be vigilant for the end is near, God bless you @odsam2

The church as a concept has been changed to mean an institution with a religious hierarchy. The bible defines the church as a gathering of believers, so it is not a building with walls painted with frescoes or icons of saints hanging on all sides. Its not a gathering of priests or pastors deliberating on theology. The church is a husband and wife who study the bible together at their home, who share their knowledge of the word with their children and with their neighbors. The church is a gathering of friends who love God and try to support each other to live the way God intended. The church will be the kingdom of God when every man on earth accepts the truth of the bible.

That's so true @lafferin, many still don't really understand what the church is and her divine mandate on earth. Many clergymen have deviated from the truth and have adopted doctrines differently from Christ actually taught his church. May the Lord have mercy!

There are lots of false doctrines and false prophets out there, the only way to know the truth is know Christ for urself

Exactly @nattybongo, we should all know Christ for ourself for the end is near

Once we're saved we're sealed by the Holy Spirit for the day of redemption. It's impossible for those of us who are saved to ever lose our salvation.

(Ephesians 4:30 NIV) And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

The Bible is clear that those who leave the faith were never saved in the first place.

(1 John 2:19 NIV) They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us.
