Today, I want to continue from where I stopped in my previous blog on how to go about counselling young people addicted to premarital sex.

These are some of the other ways:-

• Exalt the authority of the scriptures. Keeping oneself pure exactly will be determined by the acceptance of Jesus Christ as saviour from sin and Lord of his or her life-including one's sex life. They must accept the word of God as their final authority and the only authority in !matters dealing with sex.

He did not invent sex just to tempt people, but to add to their earthly and spiritual enjoyment. When God confined sex act to the boundary lines in marriage, He gave man the ability to live within these regulations and He warned that violations of His commands in this regard would bring sorrow and misery. He knew what He was doing!

Dear youth, you must be challenged to make the right choice for yourself as you come to know and accept God's authority.

It cannot be the counsellor's saying, "You must not do it because I said so, " but rather a case of the going persons deciding, "I am going to abstain from premarital sex because I feel this is best for me and it is what God wants me to do."

Whether it is a problem of petting, promiscuity, or premarital or extra marital sex, the GUILT will be the same!

• Now the counsellor must watch for the fallen client, especially the Christian who has failed, who has a need to do penance. Some usually want to do something bad or punish themselves in payment and penalty for their sin.

• Those who have fallen into sexual sin need patience and pity, not punishment. The counsellor's role is to be an agent to bring healing, not to haunt the client.

The counsellor's attitude should be, " Neither Do I condemn thee."
