A MAN AFTER GOD'S OWN HEART
To comprehend why David was a man after God's heart , we have to perceive what characteristics he needed to meet all requirements for such a lifted up portrayal. In the book of Acts, the missionary Paul discusses God's sentiments about King David: "Subsequent to expelling Saul, he made David their king. He affirmed concerning him: 'I have discovered David child of Jesse, a man after my own heart ; he will do all that I need him to do'" (Acts 13:22). The response to why David was viewed as a man after God's heart is discovered right in the verse: David did whatever God needed him to do. A conspicuous inquiry is how could God still call David a man after God's heart when David conferred such appalling sins, including infidelity and murder?

QUALITY OF KING DAVID
Humble – Lowborn men are but a breath, the highborn are but a lie; if weighed on a balance, they are nothing; together they are only a breath. Psalm 62:9
Reverent – I call to the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from my enemies. Psalm 18:3
Respectful – Be merciful to me, O Lord, for I am in distress; my eyes grow weak with sorrow, my soul and my body with grief. Psalm 31:9
Trusting – The LORD is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid? Psalm 27:1
Loving – I love you, O Lord, my strength. Psalm 18:1
Devoted – You have filled my heart with greater joy than when their grain and new wine abound. Psalm 4:7
Recognition – I will praise you, O Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonders. Psalm 9:1
Faithful – Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. Psalm 23:6
Obedient – Give me understanding, and I will keep your law and obey it with all my heart. Psalm 119:34
Repentant – For the sake of your name, O Lord, forgive my iniquity, though it is great. Psalm 25:11

TO BE man after God's heart It implies your life is in agreement with the Master. What is imperative to Him is essential to you. What troubles Him loads you. When He says, "Go to one side," you go to one side. When He says, "Stop that in your life," you stop it. When He says, "This isn't right and I need you to transform," you deal with it since you show at least a bit of kindness for God. That is main concern, scriptural Christianity.
When you are a man or woman after God's heart, you are profoundly touchy to spiritual things. Second Chronicles 16:9 explains it this way: “For the eyes of the LORD move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His” (paraphrased).
What is God looking for? He is looking for men and ladies whose hearts are His—totally. That implies there are no bolted storage rooms. Nothing's been cleared under the carpets. That implies that when you foul up, you let it out and grapple with it. You long to satisfy Him in your actions. You think profoundly about the inspirations driving your actions. God isn't looking for eminent examples of humanity. He's looking for profoundly spiritual, really modest, legitimate deeply workers who have respectability.
