So back to Peter, now watching from afar, standing in the company of the ‘others’ eventually got tired of standing and was probably cold so he chose to sit close to the fire. he had walked along with, then stood with and now he was sitting in the counsel of the ungodly, sound familiar?? Please see Psalm 1.
Uncle ‘The Rock, I will never leave you Jesus” was not only following from afar but was in the camp of those who came to mock not to believe and like Ed, his best options for a place to find a lover were the club and the bar tsk tsk tsk.
Then came the lovers but before they would show him any love, they had to be sure he was on their side.
You see the world wants to be sure you are theirs and not a spy, they might let you wear your camouflage but you have to state your stand clearly. Have you watched those initiation thingies?? Deep mehn!!!
So they began to tease him; “aren't you the one who was with Jesus?? Oh I'm pretty sure you are one of them”
Don't forget that they all looked alike, the disciples I mean, they were so alike that the people didn't think they could tell Jesus apart from the rest and so needed Judas identify him. How come then these people were unsure whether or not he was one of them.
Truth is that Peter had changed his garment, looking like the rest of the world, walking like, talking like, dressing like them; indeed becoming one of them.
Recall that when Jesus showed up at the boat a while later and helped them pull in a huge catch of fish, Peter eventually recognized Jesus, and dashed off to grab his garment. That’s right he had taken it off. It was symbolic of his dropping all that made him look like Jesus.
Dropping the garment, changing into a different one and looking like the world was not enough for them, they wanted his declaration and denial of Jesus so they asked plainly yet “aren't you one of his disciples?”
The final stage of the fall; the denial of Jesus.
Yup, just as the mouth makes confession unto salvation, the same mouth can make confession unto damnation. Three times Uncle ‘The Rock’ made confession, denying his master and his Identity as a disciple of Jesus.
Maybe for you it hasn't been as straightforward as saying the words "I do not know Jesus", you know better just how you have denied him and made yourself look a little more like the world around you.
Let's not guilt each other now, I'll allow you think about the ways you have denied Him and leave that between you two.
The solution
There are two options available to those who have denied as such; you can do a Judas and refuse a chance at salvation and restoration, just seal your fate and ensure for yourself eternal damnation (Matt 27vs4-5)
OR
like Peter you can accept your wrong doing, look into the eyes of Jesus again and beg forgiveness. Notice how Peter had to go away from these people, to be separate from them once he was broken in spirit and convicted of his wrong doing (Lk 22vs62).
Peter might have done quite a bit of back and forth, there is no denying that but me dear, he kept hearing the cock crow and kept turning back to Jesus to see the tears and disappointment in his eyes which always broke him and made him come running right back to safety. You can do same today.
It is as easy as saying these words with absolute belief in your heart
“Dear Lord Jesus, I admit I have been in the wrong and have strayed away from you and your commands on how to live and be.
I believe that only you can save me from this downward spiral I am in and restore life and hope to me.
Today I ask that you take a hold me and bring me back to you.
I promise to live right henceforth by your enabling grace. Thank you for hearing and answering me. In Jesus’ name I pray.
Amen!!”
If you just said this prayer you can leave me a message and we’ll talk some more on a few things you need to do next to keep the climb going.
God bless you.
@STEEMCHURCH

Peter's story is incredible and insightful and seeing that the bible spoke very often of him shows a lot,
His denial of Jesus came as a result of fear, because as at the time, he didn't posseses the holy spirit of God which would of course make him bold and courageous.
Judas in his part was an architect of his misfortune he could have atoned for his sin, and unlike Peter he didn't, believers today must not be like Judas

Thanks for sharing this with us, we must learn from Peter and from this great post from our brother, we must look at our lives closely and see what we are doing that is not pleasing God, accept your wrong doing, look into the eyes of Jesus again and beg forgiveness. Our God is merciful, we must all learn from this.....

There's more to learn in this story of Peter it portrays how that which Jesus said came to manifestation ,another the act of being remorsefulforf our wrongdoing the case of Judas he did he the wrong way may not say its because of ego but Peter was plane to ask for forgiveness which Judas would have done too @tikhub nice story with a moral lesson.
