Who Is The Holy Ghost?

The Holy Ghost is not an emotion, a feeling or a falling, nor IS He a crying or a wailing. He is a Person. He is the One in charge of the affairs of the kingdom of God on earth today; the Chief Executive of the divine programme on earth. He IS the motivator, energizer and operator of every revealed plan (vision) from God. He is the Revealer of the hidden treasures of the kingdom and holds the key to the inheritance oi the saints. The Holy Spirit is the most valuable asset to Chnsuan living. He is the central figure in any breakthrough in life.

The Bible makes it very clear that everyone lives to fulfill his name. When the angel appeared unto Joseph to tell him about the birth of Jesus, he said, Thou shalt call his name Jesus..." By this statement, he revealed something about the JYrson of Jesus, The name Jesus means Saviour; and His mission to save His people from their sins (Matt. 1:21), The name "Simon" (the reed; one who is easily shaken) affected Simon Peter's personality, so Jesus changed his name to Peter, athe rcxk" (stable, immovable), There was also a man called Nabal, of whom these words were spoken: "...AS his name is, so is he; Nabal is his name, and folly is With him..." (1 Sam. 25:25). Another man was called Ichabod, meaning "the glory is departed" (l Sam. 4:21).

He Is The Comforter

Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.(John 16: 7)

When Jesus described the Holy Spirit as the Comfortec He automatically revealed His mission - to make men comfortable. The Holy Spirit was sent primarily to establish comfort for God's people. Jesus gave the people some level of comfort, but promised that mth the coming of the Comforter, the comfort they previously enjoyed would fade into mere insignificance. Therefore, though the disciples mourned after He left, it was short-lived, for after Him came the One that took the baton from the Bridegroom - the Comforter! The Comforter is the true name of the Holy Spirit, and His ministry is to make living comfortable for us.

He Is The Spirit Of Holiness

We are told in Romans 1:4 that Jesus was declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the Spirit of holiness. Naturally, the Holy Spirit hates sin, as He has His source in the thrice-Holy God. His name means a Spirit that is Holy. He is Holy and cannot behold sin. That was why He dealt with Ananias and Sapphira in Acts chapter five. They lied, so He destroyed them. When you give Him a chance, He enables you live clean. You will suddenly find out that you have a total distaste for sin.

The Holy Spirit is out to ensure that "the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the spirit" (Rom. 8:4). What the law demands is made possible only by the operations of the law of the Spirit. The law on its own is helpless to bring you to a place of sanctity But when you operate the law of the spirit you are automatically able to fulfill the righteousness of the law.

He Is The 'Quickener'

But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.(- Romans 8:11)

To quicken means to revive; to inject life into something. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of life (Rom. 8:21, so He also has a mission to preserve your body from death by quickening it That is, He removes every killer disease from your mortal body and also rescues you from the sin nature, which leads to the second death.
