Which is the most tough era of human life? Infancy? Adolescence? Mature adulthood? Agedness? It most likely depends upon wherever you're on how you would possibly answer that question.
While several would possibly counsel that one’s sunset years are the toughest, my very own judgment would be that the period designated as youth may be the most difficult.
Youth is a frustrating time in life. it's that period when one is hardly sufficiently old to get on his own, and nonetheless he's feeling a way of independence. Youth ever are trying to search out the sense of identity; that's why they often act and dress so weird. they're bizarre!
But then, so were we.
The bible describe youthful stage as a time both of danger and challenge. Moses aforesaid that “the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth” (Gen. 8:21), and Paul reproved Timothy to “flee youthful lusts” (2 Tim. 2:22).
By method of distinction, though, the Creator conjointly acknowledges the worth of youth to the divine cause. kids have energy, they're daring, their hearts are filled with visions of the long run. Indeed, they'll be a most dear component within the service of Jehovah.
Solomon, who wasted abundant of his life in folly, maybe thought higher of the matter in his declining days. He contended:
Eccl. 12:1 :Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come and the years approach when you will say, "I find no pleasure in them"
Again, Paul would tell Timothy:
Do not despise you youth, set good examples in the way you talk, your love, behaviour, faith and holiness, 1 Tim. 4:12.
Its a great shame that most of the youths is quite injudicious and a little silly, they are, all the same, a beautiful resource within the kingdom of heaven.
The fact is, the Bible is replete with samples of how God has used younger folks in some of the most important roles within the evolution of his marvelous set up of redemption.
Let’s mirror upon some hanging examples that demonstrate God’s confidence in youth:
JOSEPH
Joseph is really one among the sterling characters of the old testament era. He was a favourite of his father, that incited the lustful envy of his brothers (Acts 7:9). Consequently, these hateful siblings sold-out Joseph to a caravan of Ishmaelites who transported him all the way down to Egypt, wherever the younger brother was bought by an Egyptian officer named Potiphar.
As most everybody knows, throughout the course of his duties, Potiphar’s evil wife forged desire eyes toward Joseph. She tried to seduce him, but he, with firm resolve, resisted, insisting: “How am i able to try this great wickedness and sin against God?” (Gen. 39:9).
One of the beautiful options of the account is that the undeniable fact that Jospeh was solely seventeen years of age (Gen. 37:2)! A young lad, in an exceedingly strange land, separated from his folks and his center of spiritual strength, nevertheless devoted to his God. How thrilling!
As the story later unfolds, we have a tendency to learn that Joseph was being employed by Jehovah as a providential instrument for the preservation of the Hebrew nation. Joseph would later recognize: “God did send me here to preserve life” (Gen. 45:5).
Again, at the tip of his life, to his brothers he said: “You meant evil against me; however God meant it for good ... to avoid wasting several lives” (50:20).
All of this was done, of course, in sight the Lord’s use of the Hebrew nation as an instrument within the divine plan that resulted within the incarnation of Christ. consider it. God trusted a teenager to accomplish such an important role.
DAVID
The story of David, who became Israel’s king, is simply too well-known that does not require elaboration. Who among us, both as child and adult, always love to listen or read about David’s encounter with the devilish Goliath?
What a wide ranging episode. The soldiers of Israel on one facet of the valley of Elah, the defiant Philistine champion on the opposite. Morning and evening for forty days, Goliath had challenged Israel to combat, however they were frozen in fear (1 sam. 17:10-16).
When David arrived on the scene he was embarrassed at the timidity of his Hebrew kinsmen and volunteered to require on the gentile. However he was disdained as a mere “youth” at the start by king Saul himself, so by Goliath (1 sam. 17:33,42). Goliath was slain and therefore the Philistine force was routed only with the David.
MARY
One will only imagine how sweet the beloved Blessed Virgin of Nazareth must have been, as proven by the actual fact that of all ladies in Israel, she was chosen to be the mother of our Lord.
Something of her spiritual depth is seen within the psalm she expressed when greeted by Elizabeth, while visiting her relative within the hill country of Judah. The passage begins: “My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Savior” (Lk. 1:46).
It is entirely possible, therefore, that when Virgin Mary gave birth to the Savior of the world that she was in her early teens. does this not speak volumes concerning how God trusts spiritually minded youth? Of course i imagine for a very long time; why has God not chosen an experienced mother to give birth to Jesus but the fact remains that he has plans for the youth.
JEREMIAH
Jeremiah, the great “weeping prophet,” is one in all the more exceptional characters of the Old Testament. He sought-after so urgently to bring rebellious Judah into conformity with the law of God. He began his calling within the thirteenth year of Josiah and all over his work among his folks when the Babylonian force destroyed the temple in. however he prophesied sporadically even after the fall of the holy city.
It is doable that his preaching career spanned some sixty years or more (see Jackson, 7). this implies that Jeremiah was most likely in his late teens when he was called of the Lord to be his prophet to the wicked nation. God will use a youth of faith!
JOSIAH
The reputable king to rule in Judah was Josiah. Scripture says there was no ruler of his caliber, neither before nor after him, who wanted the Lord with “all his heart” as did he (2 Kgs. 23:25).
Josiah was however a boy of eight when he came to the throne. At the age of sixteen, he began to “seek” Jehovah, and by the time he turned twenty, he initiated a campaign to purge the southern kingdom of its idolatry (2 Chron. 34:1-3).
When Josiah was twenty-six, he organized for repairs on the temple. it was at now that a enormously important event occurred. a replica of “the law of Jehovah given by Moses” was discovered within the temple (2 Chron. 34:14). when the spiritual and ethical message of the sacred document was studied, and the spiritual material of the nation was seen to face in such obtrusive distinction, a reformation was declared.
One of Josiah’s vital accomplishments was the restoration of the passover, that had not been discovered with care since the times of the judges (2 Kgs. 23:21-23). Since the passover was designed to preview the death of Jesus of Nazareth (1 Cor. 5:7), Josiah was an important component in making ready the state for the Savior’s arrival. What confidence Jehovah had placed in a spiritual lad.
Youth will accomplish impressive things for the Master’s cause. but can we invariably acknowledge this? are our youngsters just neglected as frivolous, silly people that are undeserving of serious responsibility?
Sadly, this could be the case typically. But we should always not overlook this valuable resource within the Master’s cause. We should get on the lookout for them and encourage them on the way. God will use them mightily. The glory of the youth is in their strength and the honour of the old men is in their grey hair.
God needs the young people,he is really interested in us.Mark 10:15 points to the fact that "whoever does not recieve the kingdom of God like a child cannot enter into it".
God is interested in our youthful nature and innocence,we should surrender ourselves to be used by him. Serving God is essential in the days of our youth because there are things our strength may not let us do when we age.
