The command to love 2

Let us consider who to love.

  1. God: Love for God is the first and greatest command. We are to love God with all our heart, all our soul, all our mind and with all our strength. You don’t love God on your own terms, shabbily or in half measures. You love God dedicatedly and committedly. Deuteronomy 6:5, Matthew 22:37-38, Mark 12:30

  2. Your Neighbour. Loving your neighbour is referred to by Jesus as the second great command. We are to love our neighbours as we love ourselves, nothing less. If you don’t, you are a law breaker. Matthew 22:39-40, Mark 12:13, Galatians 5:14

  3. One another (the brethren). The Bible admonishes us to love one another with a pure and fervent heart. Our love for one another should be selfless, just as Christ loved us. John 13:34, 1 Peter 1:22,1 Peter 4:8,1 John3:11, 16
