Genesis 2:8 NKJV
The Lord planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there He put the man whom He had formed."
Marriage in place known as the garden of Eden, otherwise known as the garden of of God. A closer look into the garden in the Bible reveals that it was the paradise of God. It was a mini heaven on earth that God created, as an extension of heaven. The plan was for man to have a heaven on earth experience in his life,work and marriage. But there are things to do to make your marriage a heaven on earth, there are things people do that turn their marriages to hell on earth for them. I have listed a few examples below.
When God is not given His rightful place in your home (Ecclesiastes 4:2):
When you do not pay attention to your spirituality things could go wrong, and Satan could introduce hell. Many people see marriage as a place of final rest such that once they get married, they let down their guards, stop praying and seeking God's help to succeed in the marriage. Hence, for them, they misconstrue that all the prayers they prayed has brought them the result which is marriage, thus relax after getting married. No more fasting, no more study of the word, and no more regular fellowship.
Should I or do I need to remind you that in that your marriage or anything you that you have, once you devalue and fail to recognize the place of God in it, then I assure you that you are inviting satan and he would take over and turn the place into hell on earth.
When forgiveness is denied each other:
Be reminded that in any form of relationship, be it interpersonal or intra-personal, there will always be offenses; yes, you heard me right, I said offenses not offense. Thus you should have by now known what your in for. Going by this, there is need for you to create room for forgiveness of these offenses. To get into marriage without a determination to forgive is to say that there will be no offences; and that is very bad assumption. Not forgive the devil a place(room) in your home and when it settles comfortably, he will in turn chase you out of that house, thus turning your marriage and home into hell on earth. (Ephesians 4:26-27).
When there is communication breakdown:
In truth, after God, communication/understanding is the essential condiment needed for success in marriage. When you are no longer talking among yourselves, your'e indirectly creating room to begin to do things based on assumption, and the result would be that mistakes will multiple. You therefore have the duty not of giving your spouse the silent treatment because doing so is to create hell for them and for you too. Malice is very powerful way for the enemy to silence you both so as to gain entrance. Once malice comes in there will be division and confusion and that will soon if left unchecked become a conducive environment for the enemy.
For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice. James 3:16 (NIV)
When pride reigns supreme:
You cannot successfully maintain pride and marriage together. Marriage is a place where pride is supposed to die a natural death. You will have to give up your pride.
Note:
Pride gives birth to hell
God created hell in order to judge pride.
So if pride is not death with, health will born your home.
God resists the proud and gives grace to the humble.
Otherwise God will resist your marriage and home as well.
