A date with life

Mark 1: 16-20
Walking by the galilean sea, he saw Simon
and Andrés his brother, who threw the network in
sea, because they were fishermen
And Jesus said to them, "Come after me, and I will make
be fishermen of men
And leaving behind his networks, they followed him
Passing from there a little further, he saw
Jacob son of Zebedee, and John his brother,
Also they in the boat, who patched the nets,
And then he called them; and leaving his father Zebedee
in the boat with the day laborers, they followed him

Repenting and believing in the gospel is simply following Jesus but also note two different narrations (vv.16.18 and vv.19,20) Some of these men already knew (Jn 1), but now the Lord calls them to leave their occupations to follow him
First of all we can read and observe that Jesus calls them and says: "come after me", it is the first thing that Jesus says to the call of men

When Jesus calls the men to follow him he makes a strong call, in this case we see the call "come after me" and I will make them fishers of men
This call implies walking with Jesus living for Jesus, because He calls us to fulfill his purpose in us
Jesus calls these men and although they are fishermen by profession He assures them that he has a different plan for them
God has a different plan for each one of us and God's plans are plans for good and not calamity

There is a plan of God for our lives, it is in us to take care of that call

I do not know what your occupation may be at this moment that you can have but Jesus is calling men and women to follow him, to leave their own occupations and to come after him

We can read that these men did not think twice as soon as Jesus gives them the order they leave "their nets" and follow Jesus
I have to imagine that the only thing that these fishermen had were their nets and when Jesus calls them they let go because it was a limitation to fulfill the plan that God had for them

Maybe today you can have "networks" that are preventing Jesus from following, we should reflect and meditate which are those networks that today are limiting you to truly follow Jesus

I love these words "a date with life" because that is the call of God for man and that was the call of Jesus to these fishermen who threw the net and followed Jesus, because he was the light and in Him he was life
Excellent @xiore.
