These are profound and great fundamentals of life that every human being on this planet ought to possess for a prosperous and a healthy living.
The opposite of being wise is foolish. This is why some people end up making foolish mistakes or judgements at some points in their life journey which makes them live in regrets.
If you are not knowledgeable then you are ignorant. Therefore one ought to keep himself from this vice by seeking out knowledge, through developing a reading culture because there is a lot of knowledge in books that is very useful. Have a teachable spirit, desiring to learn from your elders.
If you are without understanding then you are damn person. The solution to this is in taking the personal initiative/responsibility to apply the right knowledge that you possess and attain an experience or skill out of it. This leads you to a place of it being your life style.
WISDOM
Wisdom refers to the ability to apply knowledge or the capacity to make the best use of the knowledge that you possess.
This is a principle thing that involves making wise judgements of any subject matter at hand.
King Solomon in the bible was a knowledgeable man who had acquired a great lot of knowledge form his father David as he was still a king of Israel.
I believe along the way he witnessed and was mentored by his father about leadership though he lacked this fundamental principle termed “Wisdom” He realised that he lacked it that’s why he made a wise decision by asking God for it.
"God gives generously without finding fault" whatever his children ask for. He gave King Solomon what he asked for. He acquired the ability to execute wise judgement and exercise a great leadership tenure in Israel.
Abraham was a wise man when he chose to obey the instruction of God by leaving his father’s house and head to the Promised Land that is flowing with milk and honey.
If you are wise your wisdom shall reward you.
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge refers to the act or a state of knowing. This can be attained through research, from parents or leaders in society, education.
Knowledge can either be Right or a Wrong one.
Right knowledge is knowledge that promotes or upholds the moral standards of the community or society. Wrong knowledge is knowledge that degrades the moral standards of the community. It is often times termed as immorality.
Though we can have or accumulate a wide range of knowledge from different sources of this world such as books, internet, fellow humans; the solid truth below remains that
“the fear of the lord is the beginning of knowledge’’
Proverbs 9:10
This verse implies that the fear of God is the foundation of knowledge. In other words it’s the original source of the right knowledge that every human needs. After an acquisition and appreciation of this knowledge one can go ahead and seek for more knowledge that is in this physical life.
UNDERSTANDING
Understanding refers to the experience attained through the application of knowledge. It is a state of being skilled in the performance of something. “A product of Wisdom and knowledge.”
You can have knowledge but if you have no understanding of that knowledge then that knowledge that you carry is useless. Therefore it’s expedient for someone to take up the responsibility and apply/practice the right course of knowledge that he possesses.
An understanding man is one that is skilful or one that practices a right course of knowledge in whatever he does.
