It took us a little bit to compile the abuse fighting stats for the previous week. Now that we’ve done it once, we should have them out much faster next week!

You’ll find some mistakes in the stats, as with any new project, trying to coordinate, agree on, and set up a process of recording information is always a challenge. Our first week has been one of trial and error with much discussion on the various issues of abuse and how to record and respond to them.

We’ve pretty much chased the Sports Stream spammers out of the #sports tag. They are still around in other less popular tags and we are still hard at work flagging them as they are found.

The first week rewards payout to @steemcleaners and all our helpers was successfully run... after a little hickup. We appreciate all the help and hard work of everyone that contributes to this project.

    Hello @steemcleaners

    are there any tools to handle abusive users?

    @r4fken and @matrixdweller are both heavily abusing the flagging feature, just recently they have flagged 3 blogs of mine and 5-7 comments, including comments where i ask why i was flagged.

    If they hide your posts/comments or negatively affect your reputation try visiting #steemitabuse-classic for help in getting your posts "seen" and reputation restored. No guarantees anyone can help, but there are users there that will try.

      Wow, thank you guys for the hard work you put in trying to keep steemit free of plagiarism, and spam! That is a ton of work you just detailed in that list!

        Good work. Now if we can figure out how to get some of the whales to stop upvoting sock-puppet accounts that they repeatedly send to the trending page for weeks at a time. Then we can really work on the image and integrity of the site and possibly change the perception of it.

            Can you elaborate on what's considered to be "high frequency posting" and why it's a negative thing?

              Here is our comment that we leave, it includes a link with why it hurts your payout. Also some of the "high-frequency posting" is spam. The "sports stream" posts were making the tag #sports almost unusable.
