Hugh Jackman's rumored return as Wolverine has apparently been confirmed with the formal announcement of Deadpool 3 as well.

Ryan Reynolds, aka Deadpool, previews the antihero's first MCU debut in a rather silly Twitter video that was used to announce the announcement. In the background of the video, Hugh Jackman can be heard stating "Yeah, sure, why not" about playing Wolverine once more in Deadpool 3. I Will Always Love Hugh is being sung loudly in the background.

The trailer concludes with a Roman numeral "III" cut through the Deadpool emblem and the release date of September 6, 2024.
Deadpool 3 has been touted for a while, even though today is the project's first formal announcement. Earlier this year, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige stated that he wanted to "elevate it in the way we've been able to with Civil War and Infinity War and Ragnarok." Feige assured that the movie would also be R-rated a year ago.
Due to Disney's acquisition of Fox, Deadpool 3 will mark the first time either the film's titular antihero or Wolverine will feature in the current Marvel Cinematic Universe. Since the beginning of Marvel Phase 4, numerous MCU projects have teased mutants in general and the X-Men in particular. Patrick Stewart even made an appearance as a version of Professor X in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
