The codebase for the application is react-native and it compiles directly to Android and iOS. All future app developments, when the application is available that is, will simultaneously be available on pretty much any mobile device in use today. If you want to contribute to the project I encourage you to vote/resteem this post and keep your eyes open for the alpha testing program.
As always, once the code is polished enough to be considered safe for general consumption, the entire project will be made open source with documentation for initial setup.

The first release will have some basic stats but the main purpose will be if I want to manually activate my backup witness from my phone with the push of a button.
I'll build it out from there and eventually have an entire Steem app.
I want it to show Steem generic stats too. Charts will accounts created per day, per week, per month.
Same with posts count and votes count.
Same with total TX per day. Etc etc. Going to have a ton of features in here eventually.
I'll be releasing them one at a time to try and help fund development with announcements.

That sounds promising. Any app that can kind of link all the features, tools together will be huge down the road. The landscape of steem is an evolving thing and still very young, lots of room for improvement and growth out there. Look forward to seeing your progress
