DREAM KILLERS WE SHOULD KNOW AS STEEMIANS

in steemeducation •  7 years ago

Dreams are in -built potential every individual aspire to make a reality with hard work and determination but there are major things we do or practice which hinders our dreams and aspiration from manifesting as steemians, i will would like to address three of them this wonderful Sunday.

FEAR

Paralyzing, gripping, stop you dead in your tracks kind of fear. Fear of people, fear of rejection, fear of failure, fear of the unknown – it can take many different forms but they all lead to one result. You get stuck. You won’t move forward.

“Do not fear for I am with you; do not anxiously look about you for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, surely I will uphold you with my righteous right hand” (Isaiah 41:10).

Choose to trust God. Fear has won, until you determine in your heart, that you will keep taking steps forward, no matter how small. Even with your knees knocking, and your heart trembling, you stare it right in the face, believing more in the power of God over you, than the fear that seeks to hold you back.

PROCRASTINATION

The lie – “You don’t have time.” But really the truth may be we don’t want to make time. It seems too difficult. It’s going to cost us something. We’re already weary from other life responsibilities, why add to the madness? Days slip by, into months, then into years. Time we can never get back. “It’s too late for us anyway,” we reason in our thoughts that still seek to urge us on. Or maybe, “I’ll get to it when I really have time to focus on it.” Yet that day never comes, because we mistakenly believe we have an endless supply of tomorrows which we do not we should not procrastinate and make good use of the time we have available because time wasted can never be retrieved.

LACK OF A SOLID SUPPORT SYSTEM

groupsunset.jpg

Not having someone or even multiple people believe in what you wish to bring into your reality, it is hard to stay motivated and excited about it. Personally, my friends and family support me in whatever I do, as long as I don’t overwhelm them by talking about it too much. I find my inspiration and support from connecting with others online, trying to accomplish the same goals as me.

If you are in a similar situation, or worse yet, have the people that are supposed to be at your side and support you, trying their hardest to talk you out of your dream, you got issues. Not to say you should give up, you should never give up on something that you truly believe in, no matter what anyone says. I would try to find support from different people and try to sit down with those non-believers and explain to them that if they love and support you, they will understand and have your back. Unless of course they are right and your idea is a “bad dream”.

One main dream killer is the company we keep. There are the occasional people who believe you can do great things and support your dream but kill your dream by blowing up your route to your dream.

I will say, it's shouldn't be just a support system but an elevating system too. Awesome post
