#STEEMGIGS: (steem secrets) — Tips for sustained success on Steemit - 02

in steemgigs •  7 years ago

This post is a continuum on the series “TIPS FOR SUSTAINED SUCCESS ON STEEMIT”. This is the second post on the series. Do your best to follow my blog @marpemusic to find the link to the first post on this epochal series.

Like I do say, these are neither laws nor rules, these are only techniques learnt by observing and applying the precepts of influential/successful peeps on Steemit by proxy and from afar. Like I did mention in one of my recent posts, Success is the application of revealed principles and means. It behoves you to take a hold of these principles and means and apply them.

  • BUY STEEM POWER - truth be told, the most influential people on this space are those with the most Steem power. They control and determine the quantity of wealth that's been distributed through curation. They even earn more by curating and not necessarily by posting. Some even have low reputation score, but their Steem power is big enough to make others rich. These are people have invested big time on Steemit. They got their Steem power by investing terrific amounts of dollars on Steemit. Would you not rather join the league and become a stakeholder if you have the means to? I'll also like to bring to your notice that no amount of blogging is enough to earn you significant amount of Steem Power. The way through is powering up through buying/investing in Steem Power.

  • FOCUS ON YOUR STRENGTHS - a statement by an awesome influencer @surpassinggoogle is worthy of mention to buttress this point: "all my dreams are in my blogs". What do you blog about? When you come on board Steemit what do you write? What is your niche? What are your strengths? Some are very good at writing fictions, some are so good at poems, yours could be singing or making short videos or even graphics, hey, focus on that area of strength of yours and reinvent it for the community. Steemit is big. There's room for all sorts of beings here.

  • BE CONSISTENT, KEEP STEEMING - consistency is key to having a successful ride on Steemit. You have to keep at it. The ride can be discouraging many a times you know, but you must be courageous. I know how it feels when you post and you get less than a dollar worth of upvotes. What I'll say is, if you really do it for the fun and passion, then you should detach your emotions from the payouts and just keep at it. Before you discovered steemit you were on Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, LinkedIn and the likes, you blogged for fun there right? So channel the same drive to Steemit.

  • JOIN COMMUNITIES - this is highly recommended. There are various Steem communities here. Some are structured by Geography others are just a virtual community. It is highly recommended you find one or more and join. In Nigeria we have various communities: stach, steemib, reachout, etc. Some of these communities organise meetups so you avail yourself the opportunity to connect physically with other Steemians. A couple of these communities interact and communicate via Whatsapp chat groups, Telegram and Discord. It behoves you to join, engage and build relationship.

  • GIVE - Learn to give. Steemit is a gifting economy. There's a "gifting" habit here. That's one of the reason for contests and giveaways you see here. You need to be liberal to be influential here. You can take advantage of events or even milestones reached to give. For example, about a month ago, my followership hit 600, so I whilst celeberating the milestone reached, I did a giveaway, over $10 worth of SBD was given to people who commented and engaged genuinely on the post I made for that purpose. Giving doesn't necessarily have to be here. It can even be done on the dedicated WhatsApp and Discord groups for the community you belong to.

  • CELEBRATE MILESTONES - I cited an example in the point before this. Celebrate birthdays, round figure number of followers (e.g, 100, 200, 500, 700 followers and so on), anything worth celebrating, bring it on to this space.

Thanks for taking out time to read this blog. Do your best to share your views in the comment boxes below. Your upvotes will be well appreciated as well. Also, do listen for my next post on this series.
