Back playing competition Chess! [Steem Untalented - Who Are You?]

in steemgigs •  7 years ago

You asked the question...

Who is SirKnight?

Dear TEAM AUSTRALIA and Secretary @gobha-handcrafts; and, @surpassinggoogle, Games Master of new 'STEEM UNTALENTED' contest, et al.

SirKnight says...'Judge a person by their actions, not their words.'

So tonight, SirKnight is very proud to announce that he is actually back playing Competition Chess.

Steemit TEAM AUSTRALIA executive commitments forced SirKnight off the international circuit for a few months, but he has returned and is ready to defend his crown!

This is a picture of SirKnight from back in 2013 when he took on the then Defending World Champion Viswanathan Anand at the World Championships in Chennai, INDIA.

The glitz and glamour of Competition Chess never fades...

nor does my hunger to win...

And nor do my chiseled good looks.

About life I have said...

'Some people think that if their opponent plays a beautful game, it's OK to lose. I don't. You have to be merciless'

I am the greatest Chess player in the world to have ever lived.

I am TALENT personified!

I am...

Time to own up ladies and gentlemen - the man above is not really me. [Shock horror] Though I have actually returned to competition chess after some time off.

The man above is the current World Chess Champion, MAGNUS CARLSEN of NORWAY, with the highest rating on the planet at 2,827, according to the September 2017 FIDE ratings.

SirKnight on the other hand plays competition Chess at an average club level, is rated a mere 1,500 and is beaten frequently.

SirKnight is no Magnus Carlsen and never will be. Yet despite my lack of natural talents and ability for the game, I do enjoy challenge of the game and the tactics and strategy within.

And whilst Club Chess is not glamorous like the World Championships, it is still the foundation for the World Chess Federation and the springboard for the Top International Players.

I am... SirKnight
Untalented Chess Competitor and Proud!

Hahahaha!

Cool stuff.

I attended a few Chess competitions to see a mate here in Zagreb who really takes the game seriously.

So I can understand your angle as I have had an opportunity to know a player in this sport.

Excellent stuff as long as the clubs keep getting more and more kids involved.

Big thumbs UP!

Hi Jack.

Yes - we try to get the kids in. I will beat them for a while - but if they take it seriously, get coached etc, it generally isn't too long before their young minds start to get the better of us older guys.

Chess should be compulsory at school in my opinion - the game is great exercise for the mind.

SK.

I had a great chess match here 9 months ago.
I got pummeled, mostly by @blocktrades, but we had a good time.

Looks like it was a bit of fun Matt. If you ever decide to do it again - let me know. SK.

Yeah, not doing that. If I do it again, I want to win.

Hi @sirknight, thanks for the awesome post and telling special thank to you because mentioned about our Great player WORLD CHESS CHAMPION VISWANATHAN ANAND our valuable Citizen.i am living near by CHENNAI. I am very proud of you!

Thanks K - yes as I said to P - Anand is a true Champion - you should be proud of him. SK.

Thank you and i am very HAPPY on yours success.photo_2017-10-03_17-33-18.jpg

Both my brothers got pretty good at chess. My youngest just played so he would be better than both of us and my middle brother played for the love of the game. I was probably the worse and just played with them more for recreation.

I had an older cousin who was good at the game and he spurred on my passion for it. Nothing like a bit of family rivalry to motivate improvement that is for sure G. SK.

I am just playing just for fun and past time but not as a sport. I am smart when it comes to math and programming but not with this sport.

Hearing you KB - a great game to play for fun! Let's leave the serious stuff up to the professionals. SK.

Wonderful post with great ideas....

wow....

Thank you very much for participating.
i will need to do a full-blown reading over time. i decided to just stop by a bit for now. The turn-out has kept growing (currently around 200 posts that i have to read and counting and support with vote but i submit all entries to some friends as well to support. The experience has been awesome. I will come back for a full blown comment to empower you when i fully read. This is beyond a contest, so there will be a ton of variations to participate in, for fun, community and ultimately to bring about success in every facet, steemit and beyond. The whole endeavor is a curriculum from "school of life", raw down-to-earth stuff, without books involved; stemming from unadulterated love for humans; humans.
If you want to read some of the entries too: visit all the resteems on @steem-untalented
