#STEEMGIGS: (TIL(Today I Learned)) — Daily Devotion - The Fall ( Genesis 3:1-15)

in steemgigs •  6 years ago

I started writing devotionals during Wattpad days. Back then I was so excited to share my learnings and also the things that I think that God is telling me that day. However, due to the word busyness, I began to fade away into the background and stopped writing about my journey. I somehow began stagnant into writing, I focused on writing other stuff like poems, short stories and articles but something is convicting me that I need to write also about the goodness of the Lord in my life there I checked the old account, and I realized that I do not recall the password nor any of the things that can make me retrieve that account anymore hahaha. (Aging be like please do not ask for my age anymore though)

For the verse today we will be taking Genesis 3: 1-15 but I will be highlighting only the key verses for me.

>1 Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?”

> 2 The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, 3 but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’”

4 “You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. 5 “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

Going back to the first fall of man on that verse Eve began to have doubts as the Serpent feeds her mind with questions like “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?” since she doesn't have that strong grasp and doubts are already with her she persuade the command and fall on the trap that the serpent had laid on her.

As we can observe on that Eve failed because her heart already has doubts "what if the serpent is saying the truth?" "There will be no harm in testing it, to eat it etc." There she disobeyed and even Adam failed after following. And we know what happened when they were exiled from the garden of Eden and the fruitful life that is promised by God to them wasn't accomplished.

We are also like her, even if you agree or not. We sometimes question and do not place our full trust in God. At times we do follow what we think is best for the moment. We tend to follow OUR decision and not His.

What I did re-learn on this verses are there are real consequences of not following the orders of the God. He just wants the best for us and we need to have a firm foundation of who he is and we really need to have a personal relationship with him. In that way, we do know what He is telling us and we can put our trust to him. Because as humans, we cannot trust someone fully unless we know them really well.

My prayer for this afternoon is:

May we all be rooted in the word of God, in that way we will not be swayed if we have doubts and we are questioning his goodness may his overflowing love fill us in that way we can also share. Fill us with his spirit and renew our strength each day.
