I think this is really necessary for businesses and employees. It would be nice for an employee to manage his or her carrier and technology on the blockchain. I was wondering this myself because the Roadmap kind of ends in 2018 with App Development and I see nothing further :(
The idea is really cool I do hope its not quite dead as I do see the Facebook posts you mention and it appears one mentioned it being released on a market and was worth 2 cents (not sure what fiat, but 2 cents regardless).

There are so many scam tokens work the same idea. Pick up a remote problem that very few people care about or even knows about and then say that we'll solve it with blockchain. Even LinkedIn can add verification and these projects will be dead in a day. This is pretty useless and so are all other ethereum based projects like this.

Well, looking at the face value of the project, one would believe it is a good project. I mean, the idea that employers can just log on to the blockchain and validate a skill claim by a potential employee is amazing. If properly done, it can go mainstream and I believe it is something that the world needs. It takes months for some foreign schools to be able to confirm certificates for admission. Just imagine how easy it will be if the issuing school can attest to the certificates via the blockchain and the admitting school can just log on to check validity. There are really no bad projects but bad teams
