Kanna comes from Africa and has many use cases. Some of these use cases include: elevated mood, decreasing stress, decreasing tension, suppressing the appetite, and for sedative effects. In moderate doses, it will give a sense of euphoria and stimulating effects. In higher doses, more a sedation effect. Some people use it to help with having a meditative sense of mind and an appreciation of nature. It almost has a sense of taking away emotions which can be used in a positive aspect...such as feeling uncomfortable giving a speech in front of a large crowd. Some people also use Kanna in social situations if they are feeling social anxiety.

Another use of Kanna is it has been known to help with nicotine cravings. So if you are trying to quit smoking cigarettes, but you still get those cravings, perhaps give kanna a try to help suppress those cravings. It is also known for lifting mood. Many of the active alkaloids in kanna function as Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor (SRI). This is also how anti-depressants work. It will basically prevent your brain from decomposing natural levels of serotonin and keep you feeling better mentally. Quick note: kanna will not produce more serotonin. It will work with existing serotonin, and your brain will not need as much serotonin to feel the desired effects.

If you drink alcohol or use marijuana, you may want to be careful with combining with kanna. Kanna is known to enhance the effects of both. So much so, that people have reported getting "visions" when combining the ingredients. The effects will largely be dependent on the individual's state of mind, physical attributes, and the social setting. This means that it may be best to take kanna when you do social activities that cheer you up, or already put you in a good mood. Your good mood will be enhanced. It does not work as well if you are already feeling down and depressed. If you do suffer from clinical depression, it is always best to see a professional doctor/psychiatrist first, rather than self medicate/self diagnose.

Some side effects of kanna include elevated blood pressure, possible mild headache, nausea (no vomiting), and heart palpitations/anxiety in higher doses. Dry mouth is another possibility as well as seeing colors in a different aspect. Some users have also experienced drowsiness. Therefore, be careful when operating heavy machinery or driving.

You may need to "prime" when first taking kanna. You may not feel kanna's effects the first time you take it. This just means that your body needs to get used to it. You can try taking a small dose every other day over the course of a few days. After a few days, you can then gauge on how kanna effects you. You should also note that you could build up a tolerance to kanna if taken frequently. This means that you will have to increase your dose to feel the same effects. The good news is that there is no withdrawal from not taking kanna. This means you can take some time off from kanna to help prevent building up too much of a tolerance and you won't go through any physical withdrawal symptoms.

Well there you have it. I hope you learned something new today. If you have any experience with kanna please comment below. Thanks for reading and I will see you again soon. Take care
