Steemit Iron Chef 2018 Act 01 Round 02 : Simply Cabbage

For this second week of Act 1 , Our theme is Cabbage my dish is Simply Cabbage...
with meat...

There are 3 elements to my dish !
1.Grilled Cabagge
Quarter your Cabbage and grill in olive oil and butter on a grill pan ( I also had the meatjuices on my pan from the searing of the )

2.Cabbage salad
chop up cabbage

mix it with a dressing of Sourcream, blue cheese and walnuts seasoned to taste

3.Chateubriand
season you meat

sear it on all sides

then in the oven for 15-20 minutes at 160 degrees

Pretty simple but full of flavor and love !

Both my elements, ingredients and preparation method is very simple here, this is because I want to stay true to the cabbage and bring that forward in the 2 preparations of the plate, the one without meat was for my friend, she is not a vegetarian but mainly eats white meat or fish ...her cabbage was just grilled in olive oil and butter , mine was with the meat juices ... it was quite a meal !

this is the Cabbage type used here... when I look for the english word it merely says cabbage but here it is called Spidskål.

Sorry I missed your post during the payout period -- that grilled cabbage has to be so delicious! And that's a neat looking cabbage, too. I don't ever see that kind in the stores. Just the round ones.

it is called Spidskål here, it is a bit different than the round ones, smaller and pointed ... the taste is also different ...it's really great grilled

I've probably said it so many times, but it's in the simplest of things that we get most often the best pleasures on the palate!
Your beef is superbly well cooked, i love it like that! And that grilled cabbage...hmmm mouthwatering!

Thank you ! the two cabbage elements and the beef was a dreamy dish so satisfying and fresh to eat ... but my bestie was quite happy with just the grilled cabbage and the cabbage/bluecheese slaw with the walnuts ... so it can work without the meat too ... hihi ... though as a fierce carnivour I love my red meat ...
