I will give a talk about Steem and Steemit at the Latin American Bitcoin Conference, which will take place in Buenos Aires on November 4 and 5, 2016.
If you have some interesting story about your experiences with Steem, please let me know, maybe I can use it for my talk (which is not announced on the website yet, but will be soon).
LaBitConf started in Buenos Aires in December 2013 as a travelling conference, which takes place in a different Latin American country every year. In 2014 it happened in Rio de Janeiro, in 2015 in Mexico City.
As the organisers are based in Buenos Aires and Argentina has the most advanced Bitcoin community in the Latin American world, it will be back in Argentina's capital city this year. The venue is an old Tango theatre, which looks gorgeous:
LaBitConf is my favourite Bitcoin conference - and one of the few that keeps the Bitcoin in their name and does not re-brand as "Blockchain", "FinTech" or "Money 2.0" because they think it will be more popular with banks and governments. I have participated in all three editions and I always liked the warm atmosphere and family feeling the organisers create.
This time there will be more than 50 speakers from Latin America, the USA, China and Europe, among them some Bitcoin celebrities such as Andreas Antonopoulos, Erik Voorhees, Anthony Di Iorio and Peter Todd.
Besides my talk about Steem I will moderate a panel with some Bitcoin 'veterans' and I am looking forward to that one as well.
So I hope to see many of you in Buenos Aires!
