Should we expect a massive users migration from Facebook after Bloomberg's recent article and Facebook's grey situation?

Yesterday I made a post about some recent news regarding Youtube famous users who switched from posting their videos on the famous website to another that doesn't has to much advertising among "youtubers". It's DTube that got the attention to big names from the industry such as Peter Brzezinski.

His main reason for choosing DTube was the freedom that the blockchain based social media platform offers combined with bigger earnings than the ones he had on Youtube. While describing what DTube is about, the author mentioned also about Steemit and its freedom of speech and transparency that it offers to its users.

Not only the freedom of speech and lack of censorship were mentioned, but rewards also. That's an important hook for Steemit in attracting more users on its platform. Who doesn't want to earn money while blogging, uploading pictures, making videos or simply commenting on the platform?

It sounds like a money making machine for a hard working Facebook user who can post 10 photos a day from his daily life with ease. That could be his entrance on Steemit, but his fading future also while "swimming" through thousands of posts like this without earning a cent. Simply because Steemit is not Facebook and will never be. It's more a bloggers platform than a simply social media platform. People want to read your story, to find out details from your walk in the park or birthday party. Interaction is taking to another level.

Transparency and freedom he will have more than on the "blue" platform without his data being collected to be sold by the owners of the platform, but there are here also ways of shutting someone's mouth if disturbing. Flags and downvotes. These won't have to worry good content creators that are not spamming the platform, rather bringing more value to it.

There are enough "professional opinion givers" on Facebook that would enjoy better using Steemit and some of them have already made themselves a name around here getting on the Trending page with the help of the "loving" bid bots. But as I said in another post there is room for everyone and not all the articles from the trending page are crap. It's a big ocean the Steem.

The two social media platforms have some similarities also, but not too many. Not only that the one we use right now is based on the blockchain, but it's on another level. One step into the future could be somehow described when comparing it with Facebook. Switching from Facebook to Steemit is like moving from classical books to kindles. It's still reading, but it's not the same.

What they will miss for sure is Facebook messenger since the Steem platform doesn't has that kind of messaging option for the moment. It's possible that it will never have so the ones eager for intense communication there is always the Discord option, public comments and the famous send 0.001 SBD and the message in the memo.

We are about one million Steem users right now. How many do you think we will be at the end of the year? Will affect the increasing number of users the rewards pool in a negative way?
