Today I retrieved my steemit account. Almost ten days in Planet Zembar, not knowing what was going to happen. In the meantime, I saw my money being transferred to another account, then I realized my steemit account was stolen, not only blocked as I thought at the beginning.

¿How could this happen to me?
I used to be a natural code breaker.

I think I was in friendly mode. Social network, love and friendship, collaboration and support. I forgot about the cheaters. I forgot that I am dealing with money, and money have more friends than I have.

I saw the account of the thief, he has stolen other accounts, he always takes advantage of the same error: People mistakenly put their master password in a visible area in a public post. My password was changed in nine seconds!!! This could only be done by using robots. ¿How can we be safe against that?

The safe way

Steemit provide 4 passwords with different authority levels.

By default we use the one with higher level: OWNER.

You can do everything with the OWNER key, it can remove all other passwords if needed. We should store it in a safe place and use it only when there's a problem.

The ACTIVE key can also do everything but the owner key can change it (You need to change the OWNER key to change all other keys)

I rather use the POSTING key, since posting is the more frequent activity I do. If more authority is needed then I use the ACTIVE key.

The MEMO key has the lowest authority.

If only you stop using the OWNER key and reduce to the minimum the use of the ACTIVE key you will be safe of the evil bots I talked you about in the beginning.
