Aha. It's all coming back to me now. In the TINAP days, we once had a discussion (prompted by a listener) about placing a Flattr button on the site and I remember saying:
'Feck me. Now we're not doing that and we're never going to do that.'
'Why not ?'
'Why ? Why ?! Because then I would just spend every minute of every day hitting 'Refresh' and exclaiming 'HEY LISTEN EVERYBODY. WE HAVE 3 FLATTRS ! and we'd never do another episode'.
I knew there was a sensible reason behind this rather irrational feeling of unease. Phew.
The value will fluctuate with the current Steem price and the votes you've had. Initially it can be exciting to see a post value going up. Damn it, I still do that!
BTW There's currently something that makes posts less valuable if you do more than 4 in a day, but you may not be bothered to start with. I find this concentrates my mind on quality over quantity. This is one of the limits they may remove in time, along with the 6 levels of comments.
