Cleverness 😑

Is this encouraged? Posting stuff everyday, then, right before it hits the chain and can't be deleted, delete just the material, but not the post, thus taking the admittedly peanut rewards. Cleverness?

Sort Order:

A few possibilities:

  1. the person is a photographer worried about others using their work and violating his/her copyright in the future, so takes down the image before it becomes permanent.
  2. the person is using someone else's photographs and doesn't want it shown in the future that he/she was earning money off someone else's copyrighted material, which would open them up for legal action
  3. the person cycles through the same photos again and again, deleting then reposting to make a small body of work "earn" longer

I personally hadn't considered that loophole, nor will/would I use it, though I do wish I could earn on content for longer than 30 days, maybe that's the motivation?

You can find a conversation with that dude in my blog, either the deleted resteemed post or in my replies. It's his new business model, he said it. Today i got the reward for criticising his action, and had a look again, just to see he's making maybe 10 posts a day or so and at the 7 days mark all empty (most)
I think the motivation is either afraid of dmca, or too stupid to watermark his work if he's so concerned.
Thanks for your replies guys, at least i now know i'm not the only one not approving of it

Whois account is this? Why censor the name??

Maybe this user is using the same photos over and over and that is why he/she keeps deleting them.

Maybe. I think if it's his own work he might be disappointed with the low reward he got and retracted, and had the clever idea to always do it. He just forgets that it looks like it's all stolen. In the long run it will hurt himself. I saw it too and i'm not such a master detective haha

People are doing weird things, will break a head thinking about it. Maybe just report accounts like these so they get banned.

Where to report it? It's mainly bad for steemit itself, so also bad for everyone of us if that's going to become a new trend

To these people I say TAKE A HIKE!

Wow, those pennies will add up if he spams 1000s of posts per day. Good catch!

I don't see a point to deleting the post leaving the rewards...why delete a post suposedly worked hard on, perhaps it was stolen content?
Why censor the account name, doesn't the community deserve to see who is doing this. Then the 'offender' can explain the WTF activity.
Anyone can edit their post until before rewards payout time, but to edit it so the actual post content voted, commented, resteemed is gone WTF.
Our justice... The MUTE ability we have for followed accounts.

I didn't name and shame because i didn't know how bad it is. I mean i find it lame and stupid. He tried to make it look like I'm the weirdo for criticising him. He also said he'd do it every time, so it's definitely his new clever business model. You can find our argument in my replies on my blog if you like to know the account.
