First of all I would like to say thank you to the people of Steemit who follow me, read my articles and who have yet to follow me and will follow me sometime in the near future :) You all are amazing and this platform would be nothing without all of you on here. Together we make this site great. Bringing a foundation of people who are aware of whats going on in the world in terms of cryptocurrencies and then also finding other ways to get paid through our created content. It is a very cool experience and something I didn't take advantage of in the beginning when I heard about it a year ago.

As you can see from the screenshots this was exactly 11 months ago. I give complete credit to my friend Greg Dubela @Harveywoods who is all about Solar Power Energy and he basically called me and said "Brie, I need to get you in on the scoop before everyone else gets on board, I know you are going to blow it up if you really invest your time and energy in it!"

He took me on a tour of the site and I was MINDBLOWN! I think I saw someone had made 14 grand on one of her post and I thought to myself, "I MUST GET ON THIS SITE RIGHT NOW!" I signed up and within the week they allowed me on the site. I had no idea what I was doing, but I went with it. He was sharing with me about cryptocurrencies and I had known about Bitcoin for sometime, just had no understanding of Steemit. Without his help, I would have been clueless. (Actually I can still be a little clueless in this area and I am learning everyday)

I started telling my friends about it and none of them wanted to get on board. They just thought it was another company faking money or you wouldn't get the payouts in the end and you would end up paying them instead. So I kind of got discouraged so here are 5 tips from me that I really suggest you take advantage of that I didn't in the beginning! :)

#1 BE ACTIVE

• The more active you are, the more people see your content and see how serious you are about the site. - I was not active at all, I was kinda just dazed and confused for awhile and didn't look up what I was supposed to be doing. I just posted a few articles and then I was like "I have no idea whats going on so I'm done." Don't do what I did. Keep learning and investing your time into it, I swear it is one of the greatest things I have learned in the last month of being a lot more invested into the site! I also have gained more followers the more active and consistent I am with connecting with others. My goal right now is to post at least once a day or maybe once every other day!

#2 COMMENT ON OTHER PEOPLES ARTICLES

• Comment to people this is a Social Media Site - People love seeing that you ACTUALLY READ their articles! Some people will post "Great Article" and sometimes people mean it and other times they didn't really read it, it was just to get rewards. If you want to have an audience of people who enjoy what you are sharing on the site, read their stuff or at least skim what they are sharing with you so you know the gist of what they are writing.

#3 DO YOU & DONT CARE WHO JOINS WITH YOU

• When you tell your friends about Steemit and they don't get on board, KEEP GOING, DO NOT GET DISCOURAGED. One Day they will look back and wish they got on board sooner. They will see all the followers you have and all the connections you have and the money you have created on the platform and they will just be starting from the beginning. (This is something that happened for me, I waited 11 months until a few of my friends got on board and then I saw they were more active than me and were getting rewarded and I was like "Wait, I want to be rewarded too!"

#4 CHAT GROUPS

• Join a few of the chat groups to get your post seen more. Also there are Facebook groups and Telegram groups- Just look up Steemit and you will find them!

  Theses have helped me tremendously with connecting with other amazing steemit people.

#5 KEEP YOUR STEEMIT PASSWORD SAFE

• KEEP YOUR STEEMIT PASSWORD SAFE AND IN A SECURE PLACE! I lost all my notes one day and it had all my steemit passwords on it, and I thought I would never be able to get on the site again and I was so sad, lucky enough my computer was backed up and I found it. Please be sure to have it written down somewhere off of a computer as well!

2 Bonus Tips

• If you desire to take out your money from your wallet and you have no idea what you are doing , please look it up beforehand or get someone who can guide you through this process. I lost about $600 in my beginning stages because I was just trying to figure it out my own way. There are multiple articles and videos out there that can explain this process.

• If you are new on the site and haven't ever made a post, make sure when you are writing your hashtags for what your article is about you make one of the hash tags INTRODUCEYOURSELF These get a lot of attention because people see that you are new and they want to see who is joining the platform!
