Proper etiquette for posting external links on Steemit?

Is there a Steemit standard? 

I'm talking about something like, say, a news article.

Do you just throw the link in there? Do you give an excerpt? Do you give all your opinion?

Downvoting a post can decrease pending rewards and make it less visible. Common reasons:

  • Disagreement on rewards
  • Fraud or plagiarism
  • Hate speech or trolling
  • Miscategorized content or spam
