I spoke about this about 6 months ago. I noticed a trend of these bots and many people think they are helping but most are just comment spam and then they self upvote their comment or use another account they own to upvote their own spam comment and they do this as much as they can. There are 100's of these and I would guess many are ran by the same person or company. So many of these help groups are just businesses making money. Smart in a way but theft from those that create high quality content and do not earn much. This system rewards greater the cheater and abuser than it does the honest good folks and it will end up with nothing but bots and junk unless some reversal is possible and even then I'm not 100% sure that it can be enough to reverse the downward trend. Hoping real people come back.

It's only "abuse" if they're making more than $20 steem per post/comment, otherwise their "share" of the "reward-pool" is below negligible (0.0001%).
