In Defense of The "Whiners" Who Aren't Making Enough Money On Steemit

in steemit •  8 years ago  (edited)

I read a post the other day about "whiners" This post was derogatory[edit dispassionate towards]
towards people who were upset/frustrated about not making any money for their posts. It suggested
that these people simply "work harder". In actual fact the post needed to offer more
substance than that.

This person garnered quite a lot of support for a post that seemed to me to be rather self
righteous and not really offering much clues as to how to get noticed on steemit. It was all
too preachy for me. Unfortunately as you can see by my blog I have yet to gain any traction
for any of my posts. I can see things from a "Whiners" point of vew. The trouble is the moment
you write a post-it seems that it is quickly buried under the weight of other new posts also
vying for attention. It is not necessarily so that there is anything bad about the post
that "one" has written.

I have taken interest in the work of others and commented/voted/followed/contributed but
no doubt it is still early days yet. So if there are any whales out there that would like to offer
some CONSTRUCTIVE advice please feel free to comment on my blog.....

[I am trying to garner support and HELPFUL advice for frustrated souls, not beat them down further]

Sort Order:

Content that gets major upvotes fluctuates.
Sometimes a simple photo gets a big payout, sometimes a seriously major original article gets nothing.
Whatever you do, just do your best, and see if it eventually pays off.
If not, you did your best and shared some great content with others.

If it does pay off, then great.

Many things in life do not have a payout, and steemit never promises one.
It just allows for the possibility.

Does that make sense?

thank you

Any idea about when/how you want to do that interview?

Do you plan on publishing it, perhaps as a post?

If so, I'd recommend https://steemit.chat
That way, you can ask each question one at a time, and I can write them out for you.
It'll be easier for you to copy and past into a post.
Let me know, my name on chat is papa-pepper.

hey papa-- i started a conversation with you thinking you were logged on duh!!
anyway --to make it easier i have left just 5 questions for you -i hope you don't mind
its purpose is to give hope/advice to noobies like myself and since you were one of the first people to reach out to me-i thought you would be a great example of a whale.......

I'm no whale, but I'll answer your questions and you can use that in a post to encourage everyone you possibly can ... I'll get with you in a bit

WHINERS, WHINERS, WHINERS!
Hey, i'm not making any money here yet, but i ain't complaining. I interact with plenty of whiners in RL, so i hate to hang around them here too.

besides:

it doesn't work for me--maybe it works for you--please note I have asked
for CONSTRUCTIVE advice instead of yet more Bashing--its EASY to simply bash
so thats what people end up doing is bashing, SO PLEASE no more bashing here
stay away if that is all you can do--I am glad you are not whining, I am trying to elicit
Constructive advice for people that are new/need/want advice

" I interact with plenty of whiners in RL, so i hate to hang around them here too." does not count as constructive advice

i wasn't trying to be constructive :D

If you want good answers you must ask a good narrow question, otherwise no-one is going to answer as it would take too much time.
So, give me some sub-questions and i'll try to answer them constructively.
