Academics, journalists and the pages of local newspapers are among those who have had photos, videos and entire accounts deleted by Facebook after they posted about recent events in the disputed territory.
This is why I feel that Steem is an invaluable resource in today's day and age of mass censorship and degradation of Freedom of Speech.
A truly decentralized social network will never let the voice of the people be suppressed and will rather be a catalyst for change.

Yes, and I just read some articles about people being banned from Twitter as well. Steem will be absolute free speech.

You're absolutely right. With no real central censorship looming over the heads of those who utilize this platform it's pretty much open to whatever anybody has to say without the fear of getting your whole account put on time out or even worse, shut down!
This is a great-great thing to happen.
