Steemian.eth - What Would A Steemian Do? Won in Ethereum's ENS Domain Auction!

in steemit •  8 years ago

Hey Fellow Steemians!!

Steemian.eth - I was fortunate enough to win this bid in Ethereum's ENS Domain auction. Using it as a personal wallet is my first thought, but **the more I think about how the ENS domain secondary market is going to develop, the more I wonder how the Steemit community would utilize this address.

(From ENS website)

How would you use Steemian.eth?

(From CodeTract website)

I wish I knew more than I currently do about blockchain technology and exactly how it can be use, but this is my idea for personal use so far - I'm sure there is a much more optimal use:

It would be cool to use this address to deposit STEEM to and have it automatically exchange in Ehereum (ETH) or Ethereum-based tokens.

(From CodeTract website)

How could this domain be utilized to improve the community's long-term existence and growth?

Please, share your thoughts. DEVELOPERS - please, please, please share your thoughts on the possibility of using this high-affinity domain to benefit us all. Of course, in the end I may just end up personally using it for the reason I mentioned above. At the same time, I might actually be interested in using it for a Steemit community project!

Have you won any ENS Domain auctions? How are you going to use your ENS domain?

(Image from fellow Steemian, @ats-david, post - I like to promote artists from the Steemit community in my posts ^_^)

On a second note, how do you think the ENS Domain market is going to develop? Have you heard of any auction sites or exchanges being set up? Or domain management registrars?

So far, I've heard of:

  • EthDoMa - ENS Domain auction site.

  • EtherDomain - Ethereum ENS domain auction/leasing site.

  • Bloki-Chain - The Multifunctional Cross-Industry Asset Processor permitting to use the Blockchain Technology enabling the User to Certify and to Exchange Assets during the entire Certified MAnagement.

  • PeerName - PeerName is the first registrar of decentralized domain names. Our goal is to provide registration of all new domains based on Blockchain.

  • ETH Tools - This one seems like it's far ahead of all the others and I'm very curious to see how it turns out!

  • What is Ethereum ENS Name Service? - Some help understanding/learning about ENS domain auction.

  • Guide on how to bid on Ethereum ENS Domain Names - Quick guide.

Hope this helps a ton and I am looking forward to your thoughts on the topic!
Until next time my Steemit community!

Hmmmm...

Good question.

I havent researched the ETH domains, what are the main features ? Is it just a kind of hosting websites stored on the blockchain ?

You could try to contact @ned, @furion or some of the other devs and ask what they think.

Who knows... maybe you can sell it on to them for a profit, if they think they can use it to benefit Steemit XD

@pbock - thank you for your input and for bringing others from the community into the post!

I haven't done all that much research into the ENS domains, but from what I know so far ETH can be sent to the address and the Steemian.eth can act as a wallet. At the same time, I've heard that these domains are going to be used to operate with the blockchain. So if you're an ecommerce entrepreneur and you want to accept Ethereum or other ERC20/Ethereum blockchain tokens, you can.

Now, this is just the very beginning and as you can tell from the CodeTract picture in my post - there's a lot of money being put into these. People see value in them and I appreciate that. Yes, I would LOVE to profit off of something like buying a domain name. Specially because I have not had much luck in the cryptospace.

At the same time, it would be cool to create some type of solution for the community - maybe it's used as a lending portal for Steemians, IDK yet but can't wait to hear more about .eth uses! Thanks again for the input and - gave you a follow too.

No problemo :)

I quite like interacting with others here on steemit !

Great content. Consider joining the ENS community on our sub/r/doteth and our slack (link in the sidebar).
