The early bird gets the worm they say and how true it is. Whoever is on here now can be regarded as early adopters and I think even if you are in the first couple of million you would still be regarded as an early one. If you were in the first few 100 000 to sign up then you deserve the lucky break and I hope you have made the most of your luck.
It is not really luck but an opportunity rewarded to you as you were an early adopter and stayed with it as others folded around you. Those that folded early will only have themselves to kick as another opportunity has slipped from their grasp. I would be feeling sick if I had done something so foolish and let a fantastic opportunity for financial freedom disappear.
Everyone would like a passive income of some sorts and believe that Steem is one of those incomes. If you are big enough it could quite easily become your main source of income in the coming years. How great would that be that you could sit back and reap the rewards of your hard work and dedication. I know that most of you will carry on and become even bigger and look forward to that happening.
As we see the likes of Youtube and Twitter having more and more censorship it is only a matter of time. People are talking and looking for an alternative social media platform and I am certain it won't be long before the flood gates open. I am sure 2019 will be a boom for Steem and the crypto coin will go from strength to strength. Who knows what the real value of Steem is but I am certain it is not in double digits and the sky is the limit.
For once I can count myself as an early adopter and mine was pure luck. I joined not knowing what this place was and nothing made sense. I am still pinching myself as not only is Steem a gold mine but the people here are super fantastic.

I agree. I wish I had known about Steemit sooner, but I'm still glad to have got into it relatively early, even if my first buy ins were around $4!

Yes, we are all early adopters no matter when we first signed up if we are here right now. I slightly kick myself as I signed up mid 2017 and didn't "get it" so left my account dormant until I decided to have another look around Nov last year. Probably lost about 6 months - never mind!

Oh, yes. Let's say STEEM goes to $120 with 57,000+ apps and 280,000,000 users. If you have, say, 5000 SP, it means that you have $600,000 worth of it. With that kind of SP you'd attract a following upvoting you just for having that much SP even if you weren't a superior content producer. Also, SP holders get compensated for the ongoing STEEM inflation. That's another source of income. And of course, you can invest your SP in apps. You'd probably be able to make a really nice living from Steem even if you were barely a dolphin.

Comparing unit prices is meaningless. For the STEEM price to be $120, the market cap of Steem would have to be about $40B or about a third of the current market cap of Bitcoin which is about $120B or the same as the current market cap of Ethereum. (This is complicated by the fact that new STEEM gets minted continuously, the rate of annual inflation being about 8.7% at present time. But those are the numbers roughly speaking.)
